It also lists a Portable (ZIP) – Unsupported package, but that version has fewer features and should not be treated as equivalent to the installed program.
The download page currently displays UltraViewer 6.6.124. However, UltraViewer’s changelog lists later beta builds, including 6.6.127, 6.6.129, and 6.6.131. For a normal Windows 11 installation, use the EXE shown on the official download page and check the changelog if you specifically need a newer beta.
Before downloading UltraViewer
UltraViewer is a Windows-only remote-control application. The official FAQ lists support for Windows XP, Windows Server, Windows 7, Windows 8, Windows 10, and Windows 11. There is no current macOS version from the publisher.
For Windows 11, download UltraViewer only from the publisher’s website:

Official UltraViewer download page
| Package | What the publisher says | Recommendation |
|---|---|---|
| Install (EXE) | Full features and multi-language support | Use this for normal Windows 11 installations |
| Portable (ZIP) | Runs without installation, but is marked unsupported and has fewer features | Use only when you specifically need a portable copy |
Both packages are listed as supporting Windows XP through Windows 11. The installed EXE is the better choice for regular remote support because the portable ZIP is explicitly marked unsupported by UltraViewer.
Which UltraViewer version should you download?
The main download page currently says Download UltraViewer – 6.6.124. That is the version currently presented for download on that page, but it is not accurate to call 6.6.124 the publisher’s latest build without qualification.
UltraViewer’s official changelog lists these later beta builds:
| Build | Date | Status |
|---|---|---|
| 6.6.131 | April 21, 2026 | Beta |
| 6.6.129 | February 26, 2026 | Beta |
| 6.6.127 | January 25, 2026 | Beta |
The changelog also lists 6.6.125 as a non-beta release dated August 3, 2025, and 6.6.124 as a non-beta release dated July 19, 2025. If you want the stable package linked from the main download page, download the EXE displayed there. If you need a beta feature or fix, review the publisher’s changelog before installing a beta build.

How to stop a remote session
The documented way to stop an incoming remote-control session is to close UltraViewer. If you no longer want the other person connected, close the application rather than leaving the session unattended.
Security and changing credentials
UltraViewer’s security FAQ says that the ID and password are randomly generated each time UltraViewer is opened. Another person can control the computer only if the user shares those credentials.
This protects against unsolicited connections through the normal ID-and-password process, but it does not make a shared session safe by itself. Treat a remote-control connection like giving someone access to your keyboard and screen:
- Share the ID and password only with the person you intended to help.
- Stay at the computer while a support session is active.
- Close UltraViewer when the session ends.
- Do not approve instructions to install unrelated software or disclose banking passwords.
Windows 11 troubleshooting
UltraViewer is stuck at “Getting ID”
“Getting ID” is a documented connection failure condition. Version 6.6.108 added an auto-restart feature for this rare problem. The related registry value is:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESOFTWAREWOW6432NodeUltraViewerAutoRestartIfCannotConnect
The value accepts 0 or 1. Editing the Windows Registry incorrectly can damage system configuration, so create a backup and change this setting only if you understand the consequences. Updating to a current supported build is preferable to manually editing the registry.
The other person receives “Invalid Password”
UltraViewer 6.6.38 fixed a rare duplicate-ID issue on Windows 11 that could produce an Invalid Password error. If this happens, close and reopen UltraViewer on both computers, obtain the newly displayed credentials, and try again. If the error continues, update both installations from the official source.

Power point remote clicker is sturdy enough to throw in a briefcase or bag. Tips: Slide clicker has an on/off switch on the side to save the battery when not in use
The main window or chat window crashes on a high-DPI display
The changelog records Windows 11 DPI fixes in earlier builds:
- Version 6.6.43 fixed a DPI-related crash in the main window.
- Version 6.6.46 fixed DPI-related chat-window collapse and high-DPI image-resizing problems.
These fixes are included in builds newer than those versions. If you are using an old copy, update it rather than relying on compatibility settings as the first solution.
A connection is rejected or a whitelist rule does not work
Version 6.6.120 added logging for rejected connection attempts. Rejected attempts are recorded with the keyword REJECTED. Open UltraViewer and use File → View Logs to inspect the local log. Since version 6.6.90, the partner’s WAN IP is also written to that log.
Version 6.6.120 also fixed a problem where a LAN IP in the whitelist could still fail to connect. Version 6.6.124 added an administrator-privilege check when configuring the blacklist and whitelist, so Windows 11 may require appropriate administrative permission for those settings.
Copy and paste do not work between controlled PCs
UltraViewer added an option for copy-pasting between clients during multi-PC remote control in version 6.6.110. The publisher specifies that both PCs must run version 6.6.110 or later. Updating only one side may not enable the feature.
Microphone support is missing
Microphone support was added in version 6.6.120. If the feature is unavailable, check the version on both computers and update from the official download source.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute2Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems3Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesSmartScreen or antivirus warnings
A Windows SmartScreen or antivirus warning does not, by itself, prove that the UltraViewer installer is malware. The publisher’s changelog records certificate-related false-positive and “not widely recognized” warnings for versions 6.6.63 through 6.6.87. Version 6.6.87 states that the setup file was signed with a new EV Code Signing Certificate to reduce Microsoft Windows SmartScreen alerts.

Do not bypass a warning blindly. First verify that:
- You downloaded the file from ultraviewer.net.
- The file is the expected installer rather than a repackaged download.
- Your security software is current.
The current official pages do not provide a Windows 11-specific SmartScreen bypass procedure. If the warning remains, stop and verify the download rather than obtaining a supposedly “fixed” installer from a third-party site.
Silent installation
For managed Windows deployments, the official changelog documents the switch:
-silentinstall
The changelog also references /silent and /verysilent setup modes. Version 6.6.70 fixed a problem in which those modes installed a software bundle. Test the command with your exact installer version before deploying it broadly, and use standard software-distribution controls for permissions, logging, and rollback.
How to uninstall UltraViewer
The publisher’s documented uninstall route uses legacy Control Panel wording:
- Open Start.
- Open Control Panel.
- Select Add or Remove Programs.
- Select UltraViewer.
- Choose the available uninstall option and follow the removal process.
The current official instructions document this path rather than a Windows 11-specific Settings → Apps → Installed apps route. If the legacy entry is unavailable on your system, Windows 11’s Installed apps page may also list UltraViewer, but that alternative path is not the publisher’s documented instruction.

Does UltraViewer have a Mac version?
No. The current official FAQ says UltraViewer runs only on Windows and does not provide a macOS version.
Is the UltraViewer Portable ZIP the same as the EXE installer?
No. The official download page marks the ZIP as “Unsupported” and says it has fewer features than the EXE version.
Is UltraViewer 6.6.124 the latest version?
It is the version currently shown on the main download page, but the official changelog lists newer beta builds, including 6.6.131. Therefore, 6.6.124 should not be described as the publisher’s latest build without noting that distinction.
What information do I send someone so they can connect?
Send the ID and Password displayed in UltraViewer. Share them only with someone you trust, and close UltraViewer when the session ends.
Quick wins for a faster PC:
Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsFree Scan →Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteDriver Scan →How do I open UltraViewer chat during a session?
Press F1. Press F1 again to toggle the chat window off.
The Bottom Line
For Windows 11, download the Install (EXE) package from UltraViewer’s official website. It is the full-featured option; the Portable ZIP is explicitly unsupported and has fewer features. The download page currently presents version 6.6.124, while the changelog lists newer beta builds, so check both pages before choosing a version. Keep the displayed ID and password private, use File → View Logs when diagnosing rejected connections, and close UltraViewer to end an incoming session.
