Sony lists American Express, Visa, Mastercard, PayPal, Du, Etisalat and Apple Pay for UAE accounts. To redeem a voucher, enter its 12-digit code in the Store on the web, PS5, PS4 or PlayStation App. The voucher must match your account’s country or region.
Currency change in progress: Sony announced maintenance from October 5 to October 8, 2026, to change the UAE Store from U.S. dollars to UAE dirhams. As of October 7, the announced window was still underway. Check Sony’s currency-change guide for the current status before trying to buy or redeem a code.
Which payment methods work on the UAE PlayStation Store?
Sony’s UAE payment-method page lists these options for Store purchases and wallet top-ups:
- American Express, Visa and Mastercard
- PayPal
- Du and Etisalat mobile payment
- Apple Pay
The methods available to you can depend on your account and the checkout flow, so confirm your option at checkout. Sony says an account can save up to three credit or debit cards, one payment service and one mobile-payment number. Its saved-card setup table also includes Maestro, although Maestro is not on the UAE accepted-method list. Check the current UAE payment-method guidance rather than assuming a particular card will be accepted.

A PlayStation Store gift card or wallet voucher is another way to add funds. Buy one that explicitly matches your PlayStation account’s country or region; a voucher for a different region will not work. Sony’s UAE voucher terms and code redemption guidance explain the restrictions.
How to add funds directly to your wallet
Choose the route for the device or website you are using. Sony’s wallet funding instructions give these paths:

PlayStation Store on the web
- Sign in to PlayStation Store and select your profile icon.
- Open Payment Management > Add Funds.
- Choose a payment method and amount, then confirm.
PS5
- Open Settings > Users and Accounts > Account > Payment and Subscriptions > Add Funds.
- Choose a payment method and amount, then confirm.
PS4
- Open Settings > Account Management > Account Information > Wallet > Add Funds.
- Choose a payment method and amount, then confirm.
How to top up using Du or Etisalat
Sony’s UAE mobile-payment guide identifies DU and ETISALAT. The SIM and PlayStation account must be registered in the same country or region, and the mobile provider may apply its own spending limits. See Sony’s mobile-payment instructions for account and device steps.
Web
- Sign in to PlayStation Store and open Payment Management > Add Funds.
- Select a mobile number or add a mobile account.
- Choose an amount and enter the phone number.
PS5 and PS4
In the Store’s Add Funds flow, choose Pay by Mobile, then follow the prompts to select or add a number and enter the amount.

How to redeem a PlayStation Store voucher code
A standard PlayStation Store voucher code has 12 digits. Redeem it while signed in to the account where you want the funds or content applied. Codes are single-use, and funds or content cannot be transferred between accounts.
Web
- Sign in to PlayStation Store and select your profile at the top of the screen.
- Choose Redeem Code, enter the 12-digit code and select Continue.
PS5
- Open PlayStation Store and press Triangle to open the menu.
- Select More > Redeem Code, enter the code and select Redeem.
PS4
- Open PlayStation Store and scroll to the bottom of the sidebar.
- Select Redeem Codes, enter the code, then choose Continue > Confirm/Yes.
PlayStation App
- Select the PS Store icon and open its menu.
- Choose Redeem Code, enter the code and continue.

Can you use a U.S. PlayStation gift card on a UAE account?
Normally, voucher region must match account region. Sony’s current UAE currency-change notice is a specific exception for existing U.S.-dollar PlayStation gift cards: it says they will remain valid. During the announced October 5–8, 2026 maintenance, the Store is temporarily offline and purchases are unavailable. Sony says that after the change, USD gift-card redemptions will be converted to local currency at the same rate as wallet funds.
Sony states the UAE wallet conversion rate as 1 USD = 4.00 AED. This is Sony’s stated conversion rate for the change, not an independently verified market exchange rate. The notice also says existing wallet balances will be converted and rounded to the nearest decimal value supported in the country. Check the official currency-change guide for confirmation that maintenance has finished and for the current redemption rules before relying on the announced schedule.

Wallet rules for children and subscriptions
A child account does not have its own wallet and cannot add wallet funds. Children can make eligible purchases from the family manager’s wallet within their spending limit; Sony says the default monthly limit is zero. A top-up voucher intended for a child must be redeemed on the family manager’s account, and UAE terms restrict wallet top-up code redemption to PlayStation account holders aged 18 or older. Sony’s currency-change notice also says existing monthly child-account spending limits need to be set again after maintenance.
Wallet funds are used before other payment methods at checkout, but Sony says a payment method may still be required on the account when buying a subscription with wallet funds. Added wallet funds cannot be refunded. Under the UAE voucher terms, subscriptions renew until canceled; after an initial voucher period, subsequent fees are charged at the Store price that applies then. Review the wallet funding guidance and UAE voucher terms before funding an account for a subscription.
What to do if a top-up fails
- Card declined: Check that the method is supported for the account’s region and verify the payment details. Sony suggests trying another payment method or a Store voucher.
- Mobile payment unavailable: Confirm the SIM and account are registered in the same country or region; check with Du or Etisalat about provider limits.
- Store error or outage: Check PlayStation Network status and try again when the service is available.
- Funds or content missing: Check transaction history and confirm the code was redeemed on the intended account.
- Possible duplicate funding: Compare PlayStation transaction history with your bank statement. Contact PlayStation Support about an accidental transaction.
