For U.S. buyers, LG has the strongest supported brand-level reliability result available for 2026: Consumer Reports data reproduced on LG’s website gives it 94/100 and first place among 16 TV brands for predicted reliability. That is a survey-based estimate of problems through a set period—not a guarantee that every LG model will outlast every competitor.
What the 2026 reliability ranking actually says
Consumer Reports data reproduced by LG ranks LG first among 16 television brands, with a predicted-reliability score of 94/100. The comparison is attributed to Consumer Reports’ Summer Surveys from 2023, 2024, and 2025. LG says the underlying survey covered 121,881 new TV purchases from 2015 through 2025.
The same reproduced comparison places Westinghouse, Samsung, Philips, and Sony at 86/100. Because the ranking is presented on LG’s website, identify it as Consumer Reports data reproduced by LG; it should not be read as Consumer Reports endorsing LG. LG’s comparison notes that Consumer Reports does not endorse products or services.

The score is not a failure percentage or a promise of a television’s lifespan. The comparison describes predicted reliability as the likelihood that a newly purchased TV will have a problem by the end of its fifth year, adjusted for product use and whether the owner has an extended warranty or service contract. Consumer Reports’ 2026 Buying Guide similarly describes its TV measure as estimated problems or breakage within five years, drawing on its 2022–2024 summer surveys.

That makes the result useful for comparing brands in the survey, but it does not establish that every 2026 LG model is more reliable than every competing set. Model, size, display technology, usage, and service conditions still matter.
Why there is no confirmed worldwide winner
UK survey: current method, unavailable brand scores
Which? published a UK TV-brand survey on 10 August 2026 based on 5,911 TVs surveyed in May 2026. Its reliability measure considers how many products develop faults, how soon faults occur, and how much they affect everyday use. The accessible page lists 14 brands, but its detailed table analysis requires membership. Without visible brand scores, no winner or ranking can be substantiated from that page. Which?’s 2026 TV-brand coverage therefore cannot establish a global winner.

Accelerated testing: useful design clues, not a household ranking
RTINGS reports that 20 of 100 TVs in its three-year accelerated longevity test had complete failures, while another 24 had partial failures. The final data update was March 16, 2026. The test flags durability problems in thin edge-lit LCD designs and suggests considering direct-lit or full-array local-dimming LCD sets when longevity is a priority. These are observations from a finite accelerated test, not estimates of normal household failure rates or a ranking of all brands. RTINGS explains its longevity test.
Satisfaction and repair access are different measures
In the American Customer Satisfaction Index’s 2026 U.S. Household Appliance and Electronics Study, Hisense, Samsung, and Vizio shared the television satisfaction lead at 81. TCL scored 78 after a four-point decline, and ease of arranging TV repairs fell 7%. Satisfaction includes service and other ownership experiences; these figures do not measure breakdown frequency. ACSI’s research director emeritus Forrest Morgeson put the distinction in practical terms: “When a customer needs service and can’t schedule a repair, or downloads an app that crashes, or calls a support line that doesn’t resolve the issue, that shapes their view of the brand just as much as the product sitting in their home.” ACSI’s 2026 study announcement.

How to use the brand result when choosing a TV
- Use LG as a starting point, not a guarantee. Its 94/100 result is the strongest supported U.S. brand-level reliability result here, but it does not certify an individual set.
- Compare the exact model. Consumer Reports’ 2026 Buying Guide lists LG OLED examples including OLED55C5PUA and OLED55G4SUB. Their inclusion is not proof that either is the most reliable model. - For LCD, check the backlight type. If longevity is a priority, distinguish edge-lit designs from direct-lit or full-array local-dimming models. RTINGS’ findings are a reason to investigate the design, not evidence that one brand always lasts longer.
- Check the ownership details that affect recovery. Read the warranty term and exclusions, retailer return terms, and local repair options. The available evidence does not establish one brand as universally best for repair costs or service quality.
Bottom line for U.S. buyers
LG is the most defensible answer to “Which TV brand is considered the most reliable in 2026?” if the question is about the available U.S. brand-level predicted-reliability evidence. Treat that as a useful shortlist signal, then judge the specific model and its service and warranty terms. The available sources do not establish a worldwide winner.
