Vector Informatik announced on January 17, 2018, that it had acquired Timing-Architects Embedded Systems GmbH, bringing the developer of the TA Tool Suite fully into Vector after a 49% investment in 2016. The software was designed to help engineers analyze and optimize how time-critical automotive software is distributed across multicore electronic control units (ECUs). Vector said the team would continue developing the suite and outlined tool-integration plans; those were plans at the time, not confirmation of the product’s current status.

How Vector’s relationship with Timing-Architects developed

The companies had worked together for several years before Vector announced the acquisition. In its January 17, 2018 announcement, Vector said it had acquired a 49% stake in Timing-Architects in 2016. The arrangement had helped align the TA Tool Suite with MICROSAR, Vector’s multicore-capable AUTOSAR basic software, and Vector had marketed the suite internationally. Vector’s 2018 announcement

Vector’s company history describes the sequence somewhat differently: it records a stake in Timing-Architects in 2016 and says the company became part of the Vector Group in 2017. That milestone should be kept distinct from the 2018 acquisition announcement rather than treated as a single dated event. Vector company history

A later commercial registry aggregation reports that Timing-Architects Embedded Systems GmbH was merged into Vector Informatik GmbH under an agreement dated December 14, 2022, with a register update dated March 1, 2023. This is secondary registry information; consult the official register if the precise legal record matters. North Data company record

What the TA Tool Suite was designed to do

Vehicle software can be spread across multiple processor cores to make use of multicore processors, which can support more computing-intensive applications such as advanced driver-assistance systems. But assigning time-critical software across cores is not just a matter of splitting up tasks: communication between cores can affect runtime. Vector’s announcement described the TA Tool Suite as a tool for analyzing and optimizing software distribution across networks of multicore ECUs. These are the company’s descriptions, not independently reported performance-test results. Vector’s 2018 announcement

In practical terms, the suite addressed the planning and analysis of how software components run across a multicore ECU network. MICROSAR was already part of the companies’ technical context, while the 2018 announcement presented closer integration with other Vector tools as work to come.

What Vector said it planned after the acquisition

Vector said the Timing-Architects team—described in the announcement as nearly 40 people—would continue developing the TA Tool Suite. It named integration with DaVinci Configurator Pro and PREEvision as plans, and said the team would work on accelerating software integration on high-performance real-time platforms. These statements describe Vector’s intentions in 2018; the cited sources do not establish whether those integrations were completed or define the present product roadmap. Vector’s 2018 announcement

Two executives explained the rationale in the announcement. Timing-Architects co-founder and managing director Dr. Michael Deubzer said the suite would continue to be developed with a strong focus on AUTOSAR. Vector managing director Dr. Thomas Beck called Timing-Architects’ expertise an “ideal support tool for multi-core systems” and said integration could offer ECU developers and vehicle manufacturers a solution from one source. These are attributed views from the announcement, not independent assessments of product performance or customer outcomes. Vector’s 2018 announcement

What is—and is not—established about the product today

The available company and registry records clarify the corporate timeline and Vector’s 2018 intentions, but they do not establish current TA Tool Suite availability, licensing, support, compatibility, or its present commercial relationship with Vector’s other tools. Anyone evaluating the software should seek current product documentation or confirmation from Vector rather than infer present-day support from the 2018 announcement or later merger record.
