Timex’s new Cavatina Mini line consists of three compact, lightweight leather-strap watches. The red-strap TW2Y87900 is listed by Timex US at $129 and weighs 12.07 g; two other reported versions pair black or brown straps with different case and dial finishes. The 17 mm case and 30 m water-resistance rating are worth understanding before you buy: Timex says the watch is for hand-washing and accidental splashes, not swimming or diving.
What are the new Timex Cavatina Mini watches?
Timex’s Cavatina Mini is a three-colorway watch launch reported live in Timex stores in the US, UK, and Europe on October 6, 2026. Timex’s US product page confirms the red-strap TW2Y87900; Notebookcheck’s October 7, 2026 report identifies the other two variants.
| Reference | Case and dial | Strap | Reported price |
|---|---|---|---|
| TW2Y87900 | Gold-tone case, champagne dial | Red crocodile-grain leather | $129 in the US, listed by Timex; £105 in the UK and €119 in Europe, reported by Notebookcheck |
| TW2Y87800 | Silver-tone case, white dial | Black | $119 in the US, reported by Notebookcheck; other regional prices not stated |
| TW2Y87700 | Gold-tone case, champagne dial | Brown | Not stated by the cited sources |
Regional prices and stock can change. The Timex US page provides the current listed price for the red model; other prices above come from Notebookcheck’s launch report rather than confirmed current local listings.
How small and light is the Cavatina Mini?
Timex specifies the red TW2Y87900 at 17 mm in case diameter, 25 mm from lug to lug, 8 mm in case height, and 12.07 g in weight. Those are the manufacturer’s specifications for that reference, not independently measured figures. The compact case and low listed weight distinguish it from a typical larger everyday watch, but the numbers alone do not establish how it will fit or feel on a particular wrist.

- Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. - Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
The red model has an 8 mm band width. That measurement does not guarantee that any 8 mm replacement strap will attach correctly: check the fastening and attachment design as well as the width before ordering.
What are the red model’s specifications?
| Specification | Timex listing for TW2Y87900 |
|---|---|
| Case | Low-lead brass; gold-tone polished finish |
| Dial | Champagne, with full Arabic markings |
| Movement | Quartz analog |
| Crystal | Domed mineral |
| Battery | SR521SW |
| Strap | 8 mm natural leather band |
| Water resistance | 30 m; Timex limits use to hand-washing or accidental splashes, not swimming or diving |
Notebookcheck reports an M288 quartz movement for the line, but Timex’s reviewed US product listing does not identify a movement code. The battery specification is not a sign that a new watch needs an immediate battery replacement.

Can you swim with a 30 m water-resistant Cavatina Mini?
No. Timex says the 30 m rating is suitable for hand-washing and accidental splashes, but not swimming or diving. Follow that use guidance rather than interpreting “30 m” as permission to wear the watch in a pool or underwater.
What does Timex say about the red leather strap?
Timex describes the red strap as natural leather sourced from the Leather Working Group and characterizes its production as having a lower environmental impact. That is the manufacturer’s claim; it is not an independently established lifecycle assessment. The reported launch information does not establish the sourcing details of the black and brown straps.
