Trello time tracking is usually added with a Power-Up or connected service. Trello’s integration directory lists six options for different needs, from tracking work against budgets to seeing how long cards remain in a list. Choose based on whether you need to record active work, measure workflow elapsed time, or report on time and budgets.
Choose the kind of time you need to measure
Before adding an integration, distinguish labor time from elapsed workflow time. A timer or manual time entry records work spent on a card. By contrast, Trello’s Time in List listing describes how long a card has been in its current and past lists. That can help analyze cycle time or bottlenecks, but it does not by itself tell you how much active work someone performed.
- Record work on cards: Look for timer or manual-entry support and reports that can be grouped by card, member, or project.
- Compare work with budgets: Check whether the service supports budgets and billable time, and how it reports overruns.
- Measure workflow duration: Use an elapsed-time tool if the question is how long work waits in each stage, not how many hours people spend working.
Time-tracking options listed by Trello
Trello’s integration directory lists the following options. These descriptions establish that the integrations are listed, not their complete feature sets, current prices, plan restrictions, or data-handling terms. Availability and features can change, so confirm details with Trello and each provider.

The directory’s short descriptions are not enough to name a universal best option. When comparing services, check whether they support timers, manual entries, reports by card or member, project budgets, billable time, exports, mobile use, permissions, and data-handling requirements. Verify current prices and free-plan limits directly with the provider.

Add a time-tracking Power-Up to a Trello board
- Open the Trello board where you want to track time.
- Open the board’s Power-Ups menu and select Add Power-Ups.
- Search for the integration you want to try, then select Add.
- Follow the integration’s instructions to configure it and connect any required account.
- Open a card and confirm that the expected timer, time-entry, or reporting controls appear. Record a test entry and check that it appears in the provider’s report before relying on the integration for team reporting.
Trello’s documentation says there is no limit to the number of Power-Ups on a board, regardless of plan. That does not mean every Power-Up is free: some are free, while third-party developers may charge for their services. Check cost, reporting, and access before rolling it out
A Power-Up being available in Trello does not establish that the provider’s complete service is free or that it includes the features your team needs. Before adopting one, verify these details on the provider’s current plan and terms pages:

- Which features are available on the free plan, if one exists, and whether limits apply per user, board, or tracked time.
- Whether time is started with a timer, entered manually, or both, and how entries are associated with cards and people.
- Whether reports can answer your questions about cards, team members, projects, budgets, and billable time, and whether data can be exported.
- Whether mobile use, team permissions, and the provider’s data-handling terms meet your requirements.
Test the workflow with a small number of cards first. Confirm that the integration records time in the intended place and that the resulting report supports the decisions you plan to make. Trello’s Power-Up developer reference provides technical context, but it does not replace checking each service’s current feature and privacy terms.
