Lattice is documented publicly as performance-management software for reviews, feedback, goals, and one-on-ones. Its public pages do not establish a standalone time clock or timesheet feature for the core platform. The one place Lattice’s own materials name time tracking is its payroll services, where “Time Tracking Setup and Training” appears in a list of dedicated payroll system trainings. That shows time tracking can be part of a Lattice payroll implementation. It does not show how employees record hours, how managers approve them, or whether those hours reach payroll.

What Lattice’s core platform documents

Lattice’s admin guide describes the service as helping companies run performance reviews, deliver real-time feedback, set clear goals, and hold one-on-one meetings. The admin materials it lists centre on performance management, engagement, growth, compensation, and analytics. Nothing in that list covers clock-in and clock-out, timesheets, attendance, or hour approval. Read in that context, Lattice is a people-performance tool, not a timekeeping product.

Where time tracking appears: Lattice Payroll services

A Lattice Payroll Services statement of work lists “Time Tracking Setup and Training” among its dedicated payroll system trainings. That is the only explicit time-tracking reference found in Lattice’s own materials. The document is a training line item, though. It does not describe how employees enter time, how managers correct or approve entries, what gets exported to payroll, or which regions and plans include the service.

If you are considering Lattice Payroll specifically, treat time tracking as a scope question to put to the vendor during implementation, not as a confirmed capability you can rely on at signup.

How connected payroll and HR systems handle data

Many companies that use Lattice already run payroll or an HR system from another provider. Lattice publishes integration pages for several of them. Those pages describe employee information flowing in, not time records.

Integration What Lattice’s integration page describes Time records sync to Lattice?
Gusto A one-way sync of employee information from Gusto to Lattice. Gusto is described as offering payroll, benefits, time tracking, and compliance features. Not stated. The page does not say Gusto time records sync to Lattice.
ADP Syncing of employee data, reporting structure, and custom fields. The page warns that ADP may charge additional monthly fees once the integration is activated. Not stated. The page does not describe time-record syncing.
TriNet Syncing of employee information. Time and attendance is listed among TriNet’s service categories. Not stated. The page does not establish that time-and-attendance records pass through the Lattice integration.

Lattice’s API is described as a way to connect people data to other operational and collaborative systems. That description supports building a custom connection, but the public page does not describe a ready-made time-tracking connection.

Choosing a setup if Lattice does not cover your hours

  • You only need employee data in Lattice for reviews and goals: an HR or payroll integration of the kind listed above is the documented path. Do not expect hours to appear.
  • You need hours for payroll: keep the timekeeping module of your payroll provider as the system of record, and confirm that it writes hours to payroll. Use Lattice for performance work.
  • You want one system for hours and performance: do not commit until Lattice confirms in writing that time entry, approval, and export work on your plan and in your regions.
