Three cPanel & WHM advisories published September 29, 2026, describe separate vulnerabilities: one can allow code execution as root, while two stored cross-site scripting (XSS) flaws can run script in a WHM administrator’s session. cPanel says all supported versions are affected before the listed fixed builds and directs customers to update to the latest patched version. Check the full installed build against the relevant threshold below.
What the three vulnerabilities do
The flaws affect different parts of cPanel & WHM and have different consequences. cPanel describes one server-level command-execution vulnerability and two stored-XSS vulnerabilities in WHM management interfaces.

Which versions fix the flaws?
The September 29 cPanel advisories list the same fixed build thresholds for all three CVEs. Compare both the release branch and complete installed build with a threshold in the table: a branch number alone does not establish that the fix is installed. WP Squared (WP2) has its own listed threshold.

What administrators should do
- Inventory installations. Identify cPanel & WHM servers and WP Squared installations in your environment.
- Check complete versions. Compare each installed build with the matching product thresholds above, including the full branch and build number.
- Update promptly. cPanel’s advisories direct customers to update to the latest patched version. Follow the current vendor update guidance for your installation.
- If compromise is suspected, investigate. As general incident-response practice, review privileged WHM activity, account modifications, SSL host changes, and unexpected command execution. Restricting WHM access and using MFA are additional defensive measures, not CVE-specific instructions from the advisories.
What is confirmed—and what is not
The advisories establish the stated vulnerability impacts and fixed build thresholds. They do not say whether these three flaws have been exploited in the wild, provide CVE-specific indicators of compromise, or link to a detection script. That status is therefore unconfirmed in the advisories; do not treat the absence of published indicators as proof that a server is safe.
The root-code-execution impact applies to CVE-2026-93698. For the two XSS flaws, cPanel describes actions available to the affected administrator; the advisories do not say that either flaw automatically grants root access.
