It has not announced a release date, and it says only that it is aiming to address many of the listed items in the next update.
What is planned for the next update?
In a statement dated October 6, 2026, CD PROJEKT RED named the following areas of work. They are prospective items, not confirmation that every change will ship in the same update.
- PS5 performance: The studio says it is working on further performance improvements, particularly for PlayStation 5. It did not give a frame-rate target, specify hardware or settings, or announce a delivery date.
- Visual adjustments: The statement promises further visual work but does not identify the effects, platforms or settings involved.
- My Rewards and Twitch Drops: The publisher listed fixes for these reward systems without specifying which users or rewards are affected, or whether any corrections will be retroactive.
- Ukrainian localization: CD PROJEKT RED aims to make the existing Ukrainian localization available in additional regions on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. The announcement concerns regional availability, not the introduction of Ukrainian language support.
- Console voiceover: Console audio fixes remain on the prospective list. The publisher has not provided a date or detailed the exact console issue in its October 6 statement.
- More mods: The studio says it is continuing work with mod.io to bring more mods to all platforms. This is ongoing feature work; no number of mods or schedule has been announced.
What has already been fixed?
CD PROJEKT RED’s news index lists Patch 5.00b for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and Xbox Play Anywhere PC, and Hotfix 5.00c for PC, both dated October 1, 2026. The platform distinction matters: the PC hotfix does not mean the same fixes had already reached consoles.
GamesRadar’s October 1 report said the console and Xbox Play Anywhere update addressed issues including lighting and unavailable DLSS in Xbox Play Anywhere. It reported that the separate PC hotfix addressed saving, voiceover volume and a HairWorks performance problem. The report described that PC download as roughly 5 GB.

GamesRadar also reported that a console fix for the voiceover volume issue was planned, with no date set at the time. That distinction remains relevant: the PC voiceover fix was reported as released on October 1, while console voiceover work still appeared in the publisher’s October 6 prospective list.
Why are some players still concerned?
The October 6 announcement lists several categories of planned work, but the available community discussion includes individual comments asking when an update will arrive and describing a crash that blocks progress. One commenter reported that a crash recurred during the same fight. These are individual accounts, not evidence of how common the problem is or how players overall feel about the changes.

There is also discussion of visual changes, but the material available does not establish a representative balance of approval and disapproval. It is more accurate to say that examples of disagreement and concern are visible than to claim that players are evenly split. The practical tension is clear: some players are waiting for fixes to serious issues, while the publisher’s list also includes visual adjustments, rewards, regional localization and mod support.
When will the next update arrive?
CD PROJEKT RED has not announced a release date in its October 6 statement. It says it is aiming to address many of the named items in the next update; that wording does not guarantee that every item will be included. The final scope and platform rollout are also not specified.

Does this require buying the game again?
No, not for eligible existing owners. In its September 29, 2026 launch announcement, CD PROJEKT RED said Remastered is a free upgrade for owners on GOG, Steam, Epic Games Store, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, and for Switch 2 players who own the original Switch game. It is also available to purchase on Battle.net and Microsoft Store. On supported platforms, Remastered replaces the Complete Edition and includes the Hearts of Stone and Blood and Wine expansions.
