The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt — Remastered is the current PC version to use when checking requirements: CD PROJEKT RED released it on September 29, 2026. Its published minimum is Windows 11 64-bit, a Ryzen 5 2600 or Core i5-8400, a GTX 1660 or Radeon RX 5500 XT 8 GB, 12 GB RAM, and a 70 GB SSD. The 2022 Next-Gen Update is now an earlier generation of the game, not the current requirements baseline.
Can my PC run The Witcher 3 Remastered?
Compare your PC with the official minimums below. Meeting them is the entry point for running the game, not a guarantee of a particular frame rate at every resolution or in every scene.

These are CD PROJEKT RED’s current published minimums. Its requirements notice says Windows 10 will no longer be officially supported or tested, and HDDs are no longer supported. An SSD is therefore part of the stated minimum, not merely a recommendation for faster loading. Check that your PC has a compatible SSD, enough free space, and the required slot or interface before upgrading storage.
What performance should you expect?
Do not read a minimum specification as an FPS promise. CD PROJEKT RED says its performance targets are based on QA tests and that frame rates can fluctuate with the scene and gameplay; it also warns that output resolution significantly affects performance. Its published support article lists Recommended, Ultra, RT Minimum, RT Recommended, and Path Tracing tiers, but the detailed component and FPS rows are presented in an image rather than readable text. Exact higher-tier parts and targets are therefore not reproduced here.

- Compare like with like: resolution, graphics preset, and standard rendering versus ray tracing or Path Tracing all affect the comparison.
- The RT tiers use upscaling set to Auto in the studio’s stated measurements.
- The Path Tracing measurement also enables Frame Generation as well as upscaling; it should not be treated as a native-rendering result.
- CD PROJEKT RED says its GTX 1660 minimum selection reflects the end of Game Ready driver support for Maxwell, Pascal, and Volta, and reports that the GTX 1660 can achieve at least 60 FPS at Minimum settings in its own tests. That is a studio test claim, not a guarantee for every PC or scene.
For a specific higher preset or ray-tracing target, consult CD PROJEKT RED’s updated PC requirements page and use the tier table’s resolution and feature assumptions when comparing your hardware.
What hardware and graphics features change the comparison?
Remastered uses native DirectX 12 rendering with multithreading and adds Path Tracing, DLSS 4.5 with Ray Reconstruction, FSR 4, XeSS 2.0, and Ray-Traced HairWorks. Feature availability depends on the build and compatible hardware. The release notes specify FSR 4 support on Radeon RX 7000 series and newer; on unsupported GPUs, FSR 2 is used. These technologies can change how a given configuration renders, so a GPU model alone does not define the performance target.

Why older Witcher 3 PC requirements guides may not match
The 2022 version 4.0 Next-Gen Update added ray-traced global illumination and ambient occlusion, optional ray-traced reflections and shadows on compatible PC hardware, Ultra+ settings, and DLSS 3. Remastered is a later release with changed requirements and additional features. Some platforms also allow reverting to earlier versions, including 1.32 Classic and 4.04, so confirm which build you have before comparing a guide’s requirements with your installation.
CD PROJEKT RED announced Remastered for September 29, 2026, and says the upgrade is free for existing owners within the same platform ecosystem. The launch includes Hearts of Stone and Blood and Wine.
