For The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt — Remastered, the reported 4K path-tracing target is a GeForce RTX 5080 at 60 fps, with DLSS and Frame Generation enabled. That is CD PROJEKT RED’s expected target as reported by PC Gamer—not a guarantee of 60 fps in every scene, and not a native 4K result without upscaling or frame generation.
What GPU do you need for Witcher 3 path tracing?
For the Remastered PC version’s 2160p (4K) path-tracing configuration, updated requirements reported by PC Gamer name a GeForce RTX 5080 and an expected 60 fps. CD PROJEKT RED’s official requirements page says its expected frame-rate targets are based on QA testing and that path-tracing results were measured with upscaling and Frame Generation enabled. Its ray-tracing and path-tracing configurations use DLSS, FSR, or XeSS set to Auto. The reported target therefore does not mean native 4K rendering with Frame Generation off.
The RTX 5080 and 60 fps figures come from PC Gamer’s September 29, 2026 report of the publisher’s updated requirements. The numeric table on CD PROJEKT RED’s requirements page is embedded as an image, so the specific GPU-and-FPS row could not be independently verified from the page text. Treat the figure as a reported publisher target, not an independently reproduced benchmark or a promise for every system. PC Gamer’s report and CD PROJEKT RED’s updated PC requirements provide the source context.
What the 60 fps target does—and does not—tell you
CD PROJEKT RED cautions that actual frame rates can fluctuate by scene and gameplay, and vary with system configuration, graphics settings, and output resolution. A target listed for 4K path tracing cannot be applied unchanged to a different resolution or setup. Frame Generation also affects the reported configuration, so the target is not directly comparable with a result measured with that feature disabled.

The publisher’s page explains that expected FPS figures are QA-test targets and says occasional frame-rate fluctuations may occur depending on scene and gameplay. You can read its qualifications on the official requirements page.
Make sure you are looking at the Remastered version
The relevant release is The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt — Remastered, released September 29, 2026. CD PROJEKT RED announced PC path tracing for this version and described Remastered as a free upgrade for existing owners on the listed platforms, with separate purchase availability on Battle.net and the Microsoft Store. Check the product and build you are playing before applying the path-tracing requirements: the 2022 Next-Gen update’s ray-tracing and DLSS information is historical context, not the same performance configuration as Remastered path tracing.

See CD PROJEKT RED’s Remastered release announcement. NVIDIA’s December 2022 Next-Gen update coverage concerns the earlier release and should not be used as evidence for Remastered path-tracing frame rates.

There is no card-by-card benchmark matrix in the cited requirements and report, so they do not establish expected frame rates for other GPUs. When comparing independent results, match the conditions rather than comparing FPS figures alone:

- Use the same Remastered game build and test scene.
- Match output resolution and graphics settings, including whether path tracing is on.
- Record the upscaler and its mode, plus whether Frame Generation is enabled.
- Note the CPU and relevant system configuration alongside the GPU.
Without those details, a number from another system may not predict your own performance or provide a meaningful comparison with the publisher’s target.
