What the Beam (Gen 2) offers

- Control with the Sonos app, your TV remote, Apple AirPlay 2, and your voice.
- Effortless setup with only two cables and smart Trueplay tuning.
Atmos here is virtualized: Sonos says the Beam creates “phantom height channels” through processing. The Verge notes that it has no upward-firing drivers, so its height effect is not the same as a soundbar with dedicated speakers aimed at the ceiling.
The soundbar measures 25.63 inches wide, 2.68 inches high, and 3.94 inches deep, according to dimensions shown on Sonos’s product page. Its listed hardware includes five Class-D amplifiers, one center tweeter, four elliptical midwoofers, three passive radiators, and a far-field microphone array.

Is it the right Sonos soundbar for your setup?
The Beam is a compact option for buyers who want a clearer, more capable TV-audio setup and value Sonos features. It can be expanded with a Sonos subwoofer and rear speakers, and Sonos lists a Beam wall mount as an optional accessory; neither is needed to use the soundbar on its own.
The Verge describes the Beam as less powerful and less immersive for Atmos than Sonos’s flagship Arc. The available comparison does not establish a full side-by-side specification or independent performance measurements, so treat that as a broad positioning rather than a quantified difference.
