1Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute2Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors3Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesSpoilers for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt’s “The Play’s the Thing.” For all five correct performance choices, select the timed lines beginning “To slay beasts most foul,” “Perhaps ’midst the guests,” “Seems men’s hearts,” “But a base heart,” and “No monster is he.” Choose comedy to avoid a fight after the show; the line answers stay the same if you choose drama.
What “The Play’s the Thing” is about
This main quest uses a play staged by Priscilla and Irina Renarde’s troupe to draw Dudu out of hiding. Geralt and Priscilla shape the script to signal that Dudu can safely emerge and help with the effort to free Dandelion.
Choose these five correct lines
During the performance, select the timed dialogue option whose opening matches each line below. The fourth choice can be worded slightly differently in the game; “But a heart that is base” is an alternate rendering of the same intended answer.
- “To slay beasts most foul” — deliver it cheerfully and boldly.
- “Perhaps ’midst the guests” — deliver it intensely and with energy.
- “Seems men’s hearts” — deliver it joyfully.
- “But a base heart” — deliver it with disgust.
- “No monster is he” — deliver it ceremonially.
Comedy or drama: which should you choose?
Choose comedy if you want the performance to end without a fight. Choosing drama, also described as melodrama, causes hostile audience members to react and leads to combat after the show. This choice does not change the five correct lines.

Prepare the troupe and choose the cast
Write the play with Priscilla
Tell Priscilla what you have learned about Dudu and work with her on the play. Its title changes the title shown on the script document, but the performance answers remain the same.
Take the script to Irina and hire ushers
Bring the script to Madame Irina Renarde at the troupe’s theater. Hiring the dockside strongmen as ushers is mandatory. You can pay them or win their fistfight wager.

Recruit the Puffins for optional publicity
Helping the Puffins resolve their trouble with a gang is optional. If you complete the task, they publicize the play and provide additional experience and crowns. The encounter ends in a fight whichever of the listed approaches you take; using Axii is reported to grant additional experience.
Cast the princess and prince
Geralt performs as the Witcher. For the princess, Priscilla pays more crowns than Irina. For the prince, Abelard has the listed casting bonus; Maxim does not.
