What to know about PHYSINT
Kojima Productions announced PHYSINT in January 2024 as a new action-espionage game. In September 2026, Xbox announced an expanded partnership to publish it, and Kojima Productions confirmed Xbox as its new publishing partner. That announcement supersedes older descriptions of the game as a PlayStation-exclusive release. The official announcements cited here do not give a release date. Kojima Productions also confirmed Bill Skarsgård as the lead performer in September 2026.

METAL GEAR SOLID Δ: SNAKE EATER: for tactical Cold War espionage
This is the closest match here if PHYSINT’s action-espionage premise is what interests you most. Konami describes METAL GEAR SOLID Δ: SNAKE EATER as a survival stealth-action remake of the 2004 game, set amid a Cold War crisis. That combination makes it the pick for players seeking a historical setting and a stealth-focused operation rather than a gadget showcase or a Bond-style origin story.

Konami lists PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC/Steam, with an August 28, 2025 release date on its European product page. Its US launch announcement confirms the game became available on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and Steam in August 2025. Check Konami’s product page for details.
Splinter Cell: Blacklist: for gadget-led infiltration
Choose Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell: Blacklist if the appeal of spy fiction is using equipment to control an infiltration. Ubisoft highlights tools including a snake camera and a micro tri-rotor drone, which can scout, mark targets, distract enemies, or attack. Its emphasis on gear and reconnaissance offers a different route into stealth than Snake Eater’s survival setting.

007 First Light is a standalone reimagining of James Bond’s origin, announced by IO Interactive as a mix of stealth, combat, driving, and gadgets. It is the most direct choice here if you want an adaptable, cinematic spy adventure rather than a survival-stealth game or equipment-centered infiltration.

IO Interactive’s June 2025 announcement named PS5 and a 2026 release window. Because that window is time-sensitive, check the official 007 First Light page for current release information rather than assuming the game is still upcoming or already available.
