Prices, stock, and exact connector variants are not fixed by the available product information; check the current regional listing. A standalone Bluetooth Xbox or PlayStation controller may also work if you already own one, but support for a controller at the iOS level does not guarantee that every game offers suitable button mapping.

Razer describes the Kishi V3 as a direct USB-C controller for iPhone and Android. Its product page highlights extra depth clearance for many phone-and-case combinations and compatibility with services and apps including Xbox Cloud Gaming, NVIDIA GeForce Now, Razer PC Remote Play, and Steam Link. That makes it a strong match for a USB-C iPhone owner who expects to stream games, though app compatibility does not guarantee that every game or service will behave identically.

Razer’s Kishi V2 page also describes a direct low-latency USB connection and a Nexus app feature that can remap touchscreen controls in compatible mobile games. Those specific V2 features should not be assumed to describe the V3 unless the V3 listing confirms them. Razer Kishi V2

Check iPhone compatibility and fit before buying
Start with the iPhone’s physical connector. Attached controllers are sold in connector-specific versions, and a Lightning model is not interchangeable with a USB-C model. The case, camera bump, and phone dimensions can also affect whether an attached controller fits, even when the connector is right.
- Confirm the connector: Match the controller variant to your iPhone’s Lightning or USB-C port; Bluetooth pads avoid this connector requirement.
- Check the case and camera clearance: Look for fit details on the listing and verify whether your case must be removed.
- Check the software requirement: For Backbone One, Apple’s listing requires iOS 17.0 or later.
- Check the game or service: A controller can connect to iPhone without every game supporting controller input or offering the same control layout.
- Consider audio and charging: Backbone’s Apple listing specifies a 3.5 mm headset jack and Bluetooth-headphone support through iPhone. Tom’s Guide reports passthrough charging for the second-generation Backbone One.
How controller support works on iPhone
Apple supports compatible MFi, console, Bluetooth, and attached controllers through iPhone and its Game Controller framework. The framework defines standardized controller profiles, including GCExtendedGamepad, GCMicroGamepad, and GCDirectionalGamepad, so supported games can use consistent kinds of input. What a game actually supports still depends on that game.

Apple says users can pair or connect a compatible controller, customize buttons for supported games, add a second controller, and use a controller to navigate the Apple Games app. See Apple’s guide to connecting a wireless game controller to iPhone, iPad, Apple TV, or Mac and the Apple Game Controller framework documentation.
If you already own a compatible Bluetooth Xbox or PlayStation controller, it may be all you need for supported games. If you want handheld play with the controls attached to the phone, choose an attached controller whose connector and physical fit match your iPhone.
