tenfold says its free Community Edition has added two identity-governance capabilities: recurring reviews of shared Microsoft 365 content and event-log analysis. The vendor says the edition is available to organizations with fewer than 150 managed users, counting administrator and service accounts. The announcement was published by BleepingComputer on October 5, 2026, as sponsored content written by tenfold Software, so its feature and eligibility details are vendor-reported rather than independently tested. Read the announcement.
What the two new features do
The features address different kinds of access risk. Shared-content governance is about who can access files, sites, and channels; event auditing is about examining identity and system activity recorded in logs.
| Feature | What it covers | What administrators or reviewers can do | Evidence |
|---|---|---|---|
| Shared-content governance | Files shared through Teams, OneDrive, and SharePoint, including SharePoint sites, Teams channels, one-to-one chats, and users’ OneDrives | View shared content and set recurring reviews in which owners confirm or revoke access | Described by tenfold in its sponsored announcement; no independent test is reported |
| Event auditing | Selected event logs ingested for analysis | Record selected event types in tenfold’s database, filter by user, system, or event type, and save or share queries | Described by tenfold in its sponsored announcement; no detection-performance results are reported |
Shared-content governance: visibility plus owner reviews
According to tenfold, administrators can get an overview of shared files across Teams, OneDrive, and SharePoint. The stated scope includes content in SharePoint sites and Teams channels, files shared in one-to-one chats, and users’ OneDrives.
The review process is intended to make access decisions actionable: owners of files, channels, or sites receive recurring reviews of items they previously shared. Reviewers see personalized dashboard checklists and can confirm continued sharing or revoke access. The announcement does not specify how review intervals are configured, which sharing permissions are in scope, or what audit records are retained after a decision.

tenfold describes this feature as real-time log analysis. Users can ingest event logs, choose event types to record in tenfold’s database, and filter the resulting data by user, system, or event type. Queries can be saved or shared, which may help teams reuse an investigation or pass it to colleagues.

- Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
- Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
The announcement gives a spike in logins and the creation of a new administrator account as examples of activity that could be investigated. These are examples of queries or review scenarios, not evidence that tenfold automatically detects suspicious activity, produces alerts, or meets a particular detection-accuracy threshold.
Who can use the free Community Edition?
The sponsored announcement says tenfold Community Edition is free for organizations with fewer than 150 managed users, including administrator and service accounts. It characterizes the edition as including the features and integrations of tenfold’s highest licensing tier, with the managed-user cap as its usage limit, and says organizations can request it through tenfold’s website. Because these are vendor-stated terms and availability can change, confirm current eligibility and conditions with tenfold before relying on them.
What is known about setup and integrations
tenfold says the product offers a setup wizard, built-in integrations for Active Directory and Microsoft Entra ID, video tutorials, and no-code configuration. The announcement does not provide technical prerequisites, measured setup times, or an independently documented deployment, so it does not establish how much work a particular environment will require.

What the announcement establishes—and what it does not
The October 5, 2026 announcement establishes what tenfold says it added and how the company describes the intended workflows. It does not independently verify the software’s security effectiveness, the quality or speed of event detection, the completeness of Microsoft 365 sharing coverage, or the effort required to deploy and maintain the features. Organizations evaluating the edition should validate those points against their own tenant, logging sources, review process, and current product terms.
