Temple is a forthcoming head-worn wellness wearable from Temple Private Limited, associated with Deepinder Goyal. Its central promise is a company-described measure called “Brain Flow,” intended as a proxy for cerebral blood flow. Goyal’s larger bet is that tracking circulation in everyday life could help explore questions about healthy ageing—but Temple’s measures and their health interpretations have not been independently established by the reporting available as of October 5, 2026.
What Temple is designed to measure
Temple sits on the side of the forehead near the temple. Goyal describes its “Brain Flow” reading as a proxy for cerebral blood flow, with the goal of observing how that reading varies during daily life. Business Standard reported that Goyal wants to examine changes associated with aerobic exercise, sleep, meditation, cold exposure, prolonged sitting, and dehydration. These are intended uses and interpretations attributed to Goyal, not independently verified evidence that Temple accurately measures cerebral blood flow or detects the effects of those conditions. Temple has also described an “Entropy” metric. Goyal characterizes it as a measure of the body’s parasympathetic state and says it changes with sleep, stress, exercise, caffeine, and meditation. India Today reported that independent scientists had not validated the proposed biomarker at the time of its July 2026 report. How the healthy-ageing idea fits in
Goyal has connected Temple to his “Gravity Ageing Hypothesis,” which explores whether gravity’s effects on circulation could play a role in ageing and cognitive decline. The hypothesis is the project’s motivation, not a settled explanation of ageing. The reporting does not establish that Temple can test the hypothesis conclusively or that using the device can extend healthy life. The Indian Express

The distinction matters: a wearable can collect a signal, researchers can investigate what that signal means, and only validated evidence can support a health claim. Temple’s stated aim to make a cerebral blood-flow proxy available during everyday life is not itself proof that the readings are accurate, clinically meaningful, or useful for preventing disease.
What is known about availability and use
As of Business Standard’s October 5, 2026 report, limited-edition preorders were expected soon, with shipments planned before the end of 2026. Goyal’s August 21 post likewise said preorders would begin soon and shipping would happen before year-end. Business Today had reported in May 2026 that the first 100 devices were ready for shipment to selected founding users. Those announcements do not establish that general consumer sales have started. Business Standard says Temple attaches with single-use adhesive “Grips.” Goyal said they were designed to stay in place while running, jumping, swimming, showering, and using a sauna. The publication also attributed an estimate of around seven days of battery life to Goyal and said Temple recommends changing the Grip every two to three days. These are product-owner statements reported by the publication, not independently tested performance figures.
There is no confirmed launch price in the October report. July coverage cited a likely US$1,000 estimate, while The Times of India cited an indicative ₹80,000 price from people familiar with the product. Both were media-reported estimates, not an official price; neither should be treated as a final price or as evidence of a current offer.

What evidence and technical detail remain unavailable
The reporting describes plans for peer-reviewed studies and a collaboration with the Sri Sri Institute for Advanced Research to study meditation practices and Entropy. It does not provide a study protocol, results, sample size, or independent validation data. The sensing method and detailed performance specifications are also not sufficiently documented in the cited coverage.
India Today reported Goyal saying Temple would launch as a wellness device, with features requiring medical approval to go through regulatory approvals later. His July 2026 statement was: “We will launch it as a wellness device with peer-reviewed studies and everything.” That is a stated plan, not evidence that peer-reviewed studies have since been published. The Indian Express reported experts’ calls for rigorous scientific validation and clinical evidence before health technologies are presented as credible medical tools. A wellness label and a research plan do not, on their own, validate a health claim.

How Temple differs from a typical fitness wearable
Temple’s stated emphasis is a forehead-based cerebral blood-flow proxy and a proposed Entropy metric. That differs in measurement location and intended signal from the familiar activity and health summaries offered by many wrist-worn devices. But without validated performance data or detailed technical specifications, it is not possible to make a reliable model-by-model comparison or say that Temple is more accurate or useful than existing wearables.
The practical trade-offs are also not yet established by independent testing. Temple’s reported adhesive attachment, battery estimate, and water-use claims come from Goyal or the company as reported by media. No confirmed consumer price or general retail availability was established in the October 2026 coverage. A buyer comparing it with an established tracker should therefore separate Temple’s intended research use from features and performance that have been independently demonstrated.

What to watch for before treating Temple as a health tool
- Validation: Published study methods and results showing what Brain Flow and Entropy measure, and how consistently.
- Clinical meaning: Evidence that a reading relates to a meaningful health outcome, rather than simply changing under certain conditions.
- Regulatory status: Clear distinction between wellness functions and any feature later approved for medical use.
- Practical ownership details: Confirmed price, consumer availability, replacement Grip cost and frequency, and independently assessed battery and water resistance.
Goyal wrote on LinkedIn that the redesigned Temple was “less than half the size” of the earlier version and called it “the smallest wearable on the market, and the most^10 powerful.” Those size and performance superlatives are his claims, not an independently verified market comparison.
