Tech Mahindra says it is rolling out Google Cloud’s “Build with Gemini” workshop to more than 12,500 associates worldwide. Announced on October 6, 2026, the initiative focuses on building, securing, and governing AI agents with Gemini Enterprise tools. The figure describes the intended rollout audience—not the number of people who have completed the workshop.

What is Build with Gemini?

Build with Gemini is a Google Cloud hands-on workshop that Tech Mahindra is making available to associates as part of its workforce AI-readiness effort. The company says the training covers creating, securing, and governing AI agents using Gemini Enterprise tools and solutions.

The announcement names three tools: Agent Runtime, Agent Gateway, and Model Armor. It does not provide a detailed syllabus, workshop duration, or assessment criteria, so it is not possible to establish from the release how much time participants spend with each tool or what they must demonstrate to complete the workshop.

What does the 12,500+ figure mean?

Tech Mahindra describes more than 12,500 associates worldwide as the rollout audience for the workshop. It does not report that this many people have completed the training, nor does it give a completion rate. The company also describes its overall workforce as 146,000+ professionals across 90 countries; that broader workforce figure is not the workshop participation count. Both figures appear in Tech Mahindra’s October 6, 2026 announcement.

What will participating associates learn?

  • Create AI agents: Work with Gemini Enterprise tools to build agents.
  • Secure agents: The named tools include Model Armor, which Tech Mahindra lists among the solutions covered.
  • Govern agents: The workshop is described as addressing governance alongside creation and security; the release does not specify the governance topics or practices taught.

Associates who complete the workshop earn a Google Cloud Skill Badge, according to the announcement. It does not explain the badge’s assessment requirements or say that it is equivalent to a professional certification.

Why is Tech Mahindra expanding the training?

Tech Mahindra says the rollout is meant to build practical capability across its global workforce as enterprise customers move from experimenting with AI to putting it into production. The company frames its broader readiness approach as combining trained and certified talent, reusable industry solutions, production deployment experience, and a growing portfolio of agentic AI solutions and agents.

The company says its industry work includes telecommunications, financial services, manufacturing, retail, and other sectors, and that some industry-specific solutions are available through Google Cloud Marketplace. These statements describe Tech Mahindra’s strategy and intended customer value; the announcement does not provide independent measures of training outcomes, customer impact, or production deployments attributable to this workshop.

What the announcement does—and does not—establish

The release establishes that Tech Mahindra announced a worldwide workshop rollout target of more than 12,500 associates and identified the workshop’s broad subject matter and badge. It does not establish how many associates have started or completed the training, the workshop’s length or detailed curriculum, or whether the initiative has improved customer outcomes.

Tech Mahindra Chief Learning Officer Pramod Panda said enterprise AI needs both technology innovation and the talent and delivery capability to put it into production. Google Cloud Vice President for Global System Integrators Partnerships Kelly Rogan said enterprises are moving from experimentation toward deployment, where domain expertise and engineering matter. These are the companies’ stated rationales for the initiative, not reported outcome data.
