The right choice depends on whether you value the Rematch’s reported TMR thumbsticks and longer battery claim, or the Afterglow Wave’s RGB lighting and programmable rear buttons. These are separate regional offers, not a controlled comparison.
What Switch 2 controller deals were reported for October Prime Day?
Amazon’s October sale is Prime Big Deal Days, reported as running October 6–7, 2026. GamesRadar+ says offers end at the end of October 7 in local time; the prices below are snapshots reported by publishers and may change or sell out. Check the retailer, country, stock, price, and exact design before buying.
| Controller | Reported offer | Reported features | Best fit |
|---|---|---|---|
| Turtle Beach Rematch Wireless Controller | UK Amazon: £24.97, down from £49.99, for the Donkey Kong design, reported by TechRadar on October 6, 2026. US Best Buy: $51.99, down from $64.99, for the black colorway, also reported by TechRadar. | TechRadar reports TMR thumbsticks and up to 40 hours of battery life, and describes the controller as lightweight and ergonomic. | Players who prioritize the reported stick technology and battery claim. |
| PDP Afterglow Wave Wireless RGB Controller | $26.99, down from $59.99, reported by GamesRadar+ and Insider Gaming for the October sale. | RGB lighting, motion controls, and programmable rear buttons; Insider Gaming specifies eight lighting zones, four preset modes, and two programmable quick-action back buttons. GamesRadar+ reports a 20-hour battery life. | Players who want lighting customization and extra rear-button controls. |
The Rematch offers are country-, retailer-, and colorway-specific: the UK figure is an Amazon price for the Donkey Kong design, while the US figure is a Best Buy price for black. Do not treat either as a single worldwide price or assume both are Amazon listings.
Which standard controller should you choose?
Choose the Turtle Beach Rematch for its reported TMR sticks
TechRadar identifies the Rematch’s frictionless TMR thumbsticks as the feature that sets it apart from Nintendo’s Pro Controller, and reports a 40-hour battery life. Those are publisher-reported specifications and assessment, not results from a controlled test in this comparison. The UK Amazon price is especially low in the reported offer, but shoppers in the US should compare the separate Best Buy price against their local alternatives.

Choose the PDP Afterglow Wave for lighting and rear buttons
The Afterglow Wave’s reported selling points are its RGB effects and programmable quick-action buttons on the back. Insider Gaming reports eight RGB zones and four preset modes, alongside motion controls and two programmable rear buttons. Its reported 20-hour battery life is shorter than TechRadar’s Rematch figure, but the two publishers’ claims are not a head-to-head battery test.
Both options have different design and feature priorities; the cited coverage does not establish a controlled comparison of ergonomics, stick performance, or real-world battery life. Choose based on which listed feature matters to you, then confirm that the deal applies to the color or design you want.

Is the PDP Riffmaster a Switch 2 gamepad alternative?
No: the PDP Riffmaster is a wireless guitar controller for rhythm games, rather than a general-purpose controller for everyday play. GamesRadar+ and Insider Gaming report it at $89.99, down from $149.99, for Switch 2. They identify Fortnite Festival and the forthcoming Stage Tour as use cases. Consider it only if you want a dedicated rhythm-game instrument.
