Stellar Cyber 7.0 adds queue-level controls for AI-powered case triage, configurable Case Metrics, more investigation evidence, and response and administration tools. The release makes it easier to configure and track SOC processes; Stellar Cyber’s announcement does not provide independent customer results showing that 7.0 improved triage, response times, or service levels.
What Stellar Cyber 7.0 adds
Stellar Cyber announced version 7.0 on October 5, 2026, describing it as an update for managed security service providers (MSSPs) and lean enterprise security teams. Its emphasis is on connecting case triage, investigation, response, and operational measurement in a more configurable workflow.
The dates in the vendor’s materials refer to distinct events and releases: the 7.0.0 release notes list September 15, 2026 as the software release date and September 29 as the date those notes were updated. A separate 7.0.0s release-notes page lists August 25, 2026 as its software release date. The announcement date, the 7.0.0 software date, and the separately documented 7.0.0s date should not be treated as one release date.
How AI case triage is controlled
Administrators can enable Case Summary and Auto-Triage by case queue rather than applying the same AI behavior across every queue. The 7.0.0 notes also describe a default AI Analyst queue for critical cases. This gives teams a way to scope the workflow around the cases they want to prioritize.

These distinctions matter when assessing deployment options: a case summary is not the same as automatic triage, and the release does not say that every AI capability is enabled for every customer by default.
What Case Metrics can measure
Case Metrics lets teams use quick-start templates or define custom timer conditions. Metrics can appear as columns in a case queue and in case details. Examples in the announcement include elapsed time from case creation to analyst acknowledgment and from creation to resolution.

Those timers can help teams examine operational questions such as whether critical cases are being acknowledged quickly enough, where cases are waiting, and whether service levels are changing. They measure process milestones; they do not, by themselves, demonstrate that those milestones improved. Stellar Cyber’s October 5 announcement does not publish customer-level before-and-after results for the 7.0 workflows.
What changes for investigation and response
More evidence alongside alerts and cases
The release highlights detailed Sophos sandbox evidence and printable packet payloads for IDS alerts. It also adds access to original records behind correlation-based detections. These features are intended to make relevant evidence available in the investigation workflow, reducing the need to reconstruct an alert’s context through separate pivots. The release materials describe the capabilities, not a measured reduction in investigation time.

Response actions through integrations
The 7.0.0 notes list FortiGate URL and domain blocking, Microsoft Defender for Endpoint responder actions, and Cybereason Malop-level containment. These are integrations and response actions that let teams use existing security technologies as part of response; they are not evidence that every customer has those products configured or that all actions are automatic.

Parser Studio administration

In 7.0.0, API error responses use request_id instead of the former requestId field. Scripts that read the old property may stop extracting the request identifier or lose the ability to correlate errors with logs. Stellar Cyber says a migration is available to customers who request it.

- Review integrations and scripts that parse API error bodies for
requestId. - Update consumers to handle
request_idand verify that error logging still captures the identifier. - If you need the migration, request it from Stellar Cyber rather than assuming the old field remains available.
One performance figure concerns settings, not case handling
The 7.0.0 notes report that moving a mail-server status check out of a settings request brought settings-request response times to approximately 0.7 seconds on SaaS deployments and approximately 1.1 seconds on on-premises deployments. These are approximate figures reported by Stellar Cyber in 2026 for loading user-interface settings. They are not measurements of alert investigation, case resolution, or overall platform performance.
What the release does—and does not—establish
Stellar Cyber presents 7.0 as a way to make more of the SOC workflow configurable and measurable. Founder and CTO Aimei Wei described the intended model as asking whether teams identified the real attack, understood it quickly, took the right action, and improved over time. That is the vendor’s explanation of the product’s goals, not independent validation of customer outcomes.
The practical value for a SOC will depend on which features its edition and entitlements provide, what administrators enable, how teams configure queues and timers, and which integrations are deployed. The release materials support evaluating those controls and milestones; they do not substantiate a version-specific improvement in productivity, false-positive rates, or service levels.
