Choose a Steam Deck OLED if you want to play PC games from Steam locally on a handheld built around SteamOS and gamepad controls. Choose an Android handheld if you want Android games, remote play from another device, or cloud gaming. The deciding question is not which category is universally better; it is where the games you want to play run.
Android handhelds are not all the same. Logitech G Cloud is explicitly designed around cloud and remote play as well as Google Play games, while Razer Edge is an Android device marketed for Android, PC, Xbox, and cloud gaming use cases. Those streaming options depend on network quality, service access, and the games available to you.
Start with your games and how you want to play them
A Steam Deck is a handheld PC gaming device running SteamOS. Its core appeal is access to PC games in your Steam library through an interface designed for handheld controls. Valve also highlights quick suspend and resume and docking support on its product page (Valve: Introducing Steam Deck OLED).
An Android gaming handheld runs Android apps and games. Depending on the device and service, you can play games installed from Google Play, stream a game from a cloud service, or remotely play from a PC or console. Remote play sends a game running on your own PC or console to the handheld; cloud gaming runs it on a service provider’s hardware. Neither is the same as installing and running a Windows PC game locally on Android.

- Pick Steam Deck OLED if your priority is Steam PC games and you want the handheld itself to run them through SteamOS.
- Pick an Android handheld if your priority is Android games, or if you plan to stream from a cloud service, PC, or console.
- Compare specific devices if you are undecided: Logitech G Cloud and Razer Edge target different mixes of Android, remote play, and streaming.
How the Steam Deck OLED, Logitech G Cloud, and Razer Edge differ
The figures below are manufacturer specifications, not independent comparisons. A larger resolution or higher refresh rate does not by itself establish which screen looks better, and the specifications do not establish a performance ranking.

Can an Android handheld play Steam games?
It can access some PC games by streaming them, but that is different from running Steam PC games locally as the Steam Deck does. Logitech lists PC remote play and cloud services among G Cloud’s use cases. Razer lists PC and cloud gaming use cases for Edge. In remote play, the game runs on your own PC; with cloud gaming, it runs on a remote service. The handheld displays the stream and sends control input back over the network.

For streaming, check that the handheld, network, game, and service work together in your region. Remote play requires access to the PC or console running the game; cloud play requires a supported service and catalog. Logitech names NVIDIA GeForce NOW and Xbox Game Pass Cloud Gaming, but that device-use list does not guarantee that every game, subscription, or service is available to every reader (Logitech G Cloud product page).
Which Android handheld is the closer fit?
Choose Logitech G Cloud for a streaming-focused mix
Logitech describes G Cloud as a device for remote play from PC, Xbox, and PS5, cloud play through named services, and local Android games from Google Play. Its listed hardware includes Android 11 with Google Mobile Services, 64GB storage, and microSD support. That makes it a fit to consider if you want Android apps alongside streaming from other hardware or services—not a substitute for a handheld PC that runs Steam games locally.
Logitech estimates “~12 hours cloud game play time” with volume and brightness both at 50%. This is the manufacturer’s estimate under those stated conditions, not an independently measured or directly comparable battery result.

Choose Razer Edge for its Android and high-refresh display positioning
Razer lists Edge Wi-Fi and Edge 5G with a 6.8-inch FHD+ AMOLED screen at 144Hz. Its developer portal describes the device as Android-based and positions it for Android, PC, Xbox, and cloud gaming. These are manufacturer-described specifications and use cases, not evidence that every Android game supports every controller feature or that streaming works equally well on every network.
Razer describes compatible Android games and Xbox Game Pass as use cases for the Kishi V2 Pro controller. Do not assume universal controller compatibility across Android games; check support for the games you plan to play.
What to compare before buying
Library and play mode
Write down the games you actually intend to play, then identify whether each runs locally on the handheld, streams from your PC or console, or comes through a cloud service. This prevents a common mismatch: buying an Android device expecting it to install and run PC versions of Steam games locally.

Network and subscriptions
Local play does not depend on a streaming connection in the same way remote or cloud play does. For streaming, consider the quality and reliability of the network where you will use the device, as well as service access and catalog. Confirm any required subscription and whether the games you want are included; service terms and availability can vary.
Screen, controls, and storage
Compare display size, resolution, panel type, and refresh rate against your own preferences, but do not treat one specification as a complete picture of screen quality. Also consider the control layout, grip, weight, and whether your games support the controls you intend to use. The cited official specifications do not establish an independent comfort ranking.
Valve and Logitech list microSD support for the Steam Deck OLED and G Cloud, respectively. Check the exact model and card compatibility before buying storage. For Razer Edge, verify the storage and expansion details for the specific regional model you are considering.

Neither is a universal winner. The Steam Deck OLED is the more direct choice for playing Steam PC games on the device itself. The Logitech G Cloud is aimed at Android games plus cloud and remote play. Their screens and connectivity also differ, but those specifications do not replace the main decision: whether your games should run on the handheld or be streamed to it.
