Risk and row settings change the spread of possible payouts, not your ability to steer a ball or improve the game’s expected return. The current rules and payout figures available here are for Stake.com, so they should not be treated as verified Stake.us specifications.
What Plinko settings actually change
In Stake’s description of its Stake.com game, a ball falls through a field of pins and lands in a slot with a multiplier. Players choose a risk level—Easy, Medium, Hard or Expert—and a row count from 8 to 16. Stake says higher risk widens the edge multipliers and narrows middle payouts; adding rows widens the spread of potential payouts. Those choices affect volatility and the range of outcomes, not which outcome comes next. Stake’s Plinko page lists these mechanics for Stake.com.
The table below gives the maximum multipliers listed on Stake.com’s game page. These are maxima for the Stake.com configurations shown, not odds of hitting those multipliers, recommendations, or verified Stake.us payouts.
| Rows | Easy max | Medium max | Hard max | Expert max |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 8 | 5.6x | 13x | 29x | 50x |
| 9 | 5.6x | 18x | 43x | 100x |
| 10 | 8.9x | 22x | 76x | 201x |
| 11 | 8.4x | 24x | 120x | 324x |
| 12 | 10x | 33x | 170x | 619x |
| 13 | 8.1x | 43x | 260x | 1,012x |
| 14 | 7.1x | 58x | 420x | 2,369x |
| 15 | 15x | 88x | 620x | 5,000x |
| 16 | 16x | 110x | 1,000x | 10,000x |
How to choose a risk and row setting
There is no universally “best” combination. Choose based on how much volatility you are prepared to experience, rather than treating a displayed maximum as a likely target.

- Volatility: Higher risk and more rows widen the payout spread. A wider spread can mean more extreme results and losing runs that feel more severe.
- Payout range: Compare the minimum and maximum shown in the live game for the exact configuration. The maximum alone says nothing about how likely it is.
- Budget fit: Use a preset spending limit you can afford to lose. If ordinary variation would tempt you to raise your bet or continue beyond that limit, the setting or session is not a good fit.
Stake’s current Stake.com game page states a 99% RTP and 1% house edge. These are the operator’s published specifications, not an independent measurement or a promise that an individual session—or any player—will receive 99% of wagers back. The game page was accessed October 5, 2026. Stake.com Plinko is the relevant source for its current settings and figures.
Why betting patterns do not beat the game
Increasing a bet after a loss, alternating bet sizes, or choosing a supposed “hot” side does not make a particular next result due. A sequence of earlier drops does not provide a reliable prediction of the next one. No progression or betting pattern is established as a way to overcome the published house edge.

Stake says Plinko uses an RNG and combines server and client seeds so players can verify completed outcomes through its provably-fair system. That is a way to check how an outcome was generated; it is not a way to predict the next drop, eliminate variance, or change the game’s expected return. See Stake’s game description and its Plinko guide.
Use limits and Autobet to control play, not results
- Set a spending limit before you start. Stake’s game page points players to budgeting, deposit limits and self-exclusion tools. Limits can constrain play; they do not improve expected returns.
- Choose a ball count before starting Autobet. Stake advises deciding in advance how many balls to play and sticking to that decision. Autobet plays a set number of rounds without hands-on input; it does not alter the chance mechanism.
- Do not chase losses. Keep the bet size and session within the plan you set. Past drops do not make a particular result more likely next.
- Stop if the plan no longer holds. If you are spending beyond your preset budget or find it hard to stop, use available limits or self-exclusion rather than trying another strategy.

A Stake.com blog guide also reports 99% RTP and a 1% house edge, but it describes three risk levels and a 1,000x maximum, unlike the current Stake.com game page’s four levels and 10,000x maximum. The guide’s publication date is not displayed in the search result, so the current game page is the more appropriate source for present Stake.com settings. Stake’s Plinko guide.
