Spotify Wrapped is a personalized recap in the Spotify app. For the latest edition covered by Spotify’s official instructions, 2025 Wrapped, update the app and look for the Wrapped feed near the top of Home or search for “2025 Wrapped.” Spotify launched it on December 3, 2025. The rules and interface can change each year; Spotify’s reviewed materials do not establish the 2026 launch date, eligibility, or features.
How to find Spotify Wrapped
- Update the Spotify app on your iOS or Android device.
- Open Spotify and look for the Wrapped feed near the top of Home, or use Search and enter “2025 Wrapped.”
- Open the personalized experience. If it does not appear, check whether you met the 2025 listening requirements below.

Who qualified for 2025 Wrapped?
Spotify’s published 2025 threshold required both of the following:
- At least 30 songs listened to for more than 30 seconds each.
- At least five different artists listened to during the year.
Spotify did not specify a single minimum number of total listening minutes for eligibility. Plays in Private Mode and songs or playlists excluded from Taste Profile did not count toward the eligibility threshold. Spotify’s 2025 eligibility rules

What Spotify Wrapped shows
The 2025 recap included personalized stories about listening, with examples such as total minutes across music, podcasts, and audiobooks; top songs and a personalized Top Songs playlist; top artists; and top genres. Spotify also brought audiobooks into the main listener experience for the first time, with finished-title and top-audiobook information.

How Spotify counts listening
The listening window and what counts as a play
For 2025 Wrapped, Spotify used listening from January through mid-November, ending the collection period before launch so it could validate and prepare the experience. A track counted as a play for Wrapped after more than 30 seconds. Spotify included offline listening. As a result, the recap is not a complete January-to-December ledger. Different stories can use different calculations
Wrapped does not apply one ranking formula to every story. In Spotify’s 2025 methodology, Top Songs were ranked by how often tracks were listened to, provided the user streamed at least 30 tracks. For an album to qualify for the album feature, the listener needed to hear at least 70% of its tracks. Album ranking considered both how often those tracks were played and how evenly listening was distributed across them. Singles, EPs, and compilations did not count as albums for that feature. Private Mode, exclusions, and shared devices
Spotify says Private Mode and content excluded from Taste Profile do not shape taste-based stories, although those listens can still count toward total listening time. Spotify also cautions that shared devices can affect results: plays by household members using the same smart speaker or home system may be reflected in the account’s recap. For listening you do not want shaping taste-based stories, Spotify recommends Private Mode or Exclude from Taste Profile. How to share Wrapped and start a Wrapped Party
Spotify said listeners could share story cards through Spotify Messages or other social channels. The 2025 Wrapped Party was mobile-only. Users could open it from the Wrapped hub, search for “Wrapped Party,” or reach it at the end of their personalized experience. A host could play with one to nine other friends. Why your recap may surprise you
- The recap stops before year-end: Spotify’s 2025 collection window ended around mid-November.
- Some listening does not shape taste stories: Private Mode and Taste Profile exclusions are treated differently from ordinary listening in those stories.
- Shared playback may be attributed to your account: Other people’s listening on a shared device can influence the recap.
- Not every story appears for everyone: Some features have their own thresholds.
Spotify notes that other services may use different data windows and counting approaches. A comparison with another recap is meaningful only when its measurement window, stream definition, offline-listening treatment, exclusions, and data source are known; Spotify’s materials do not establish those details for any particular third-party service.
