Anthropic’s current Sonnet 5.5 pricing lists cache reads at $0.20 per million tokens, not $0.10. Its published Claude Agent SDK credit program lists $100 per month for Max 5x and $200 for Max 20x, but Team credits are assigned per seat and cannot be pooled or shared. These figures reflect Anthropic’s official pages checked October 7, 2026.
Is Sonnet 5.5 cache-read pricing now $0.10 per million tokens?
No. Anthropic’s September 28, 2026 announcement and its current Claude Platform model documentation list cache reads at $0.20 per million tokens. Those official sources do not support a reduction to $0.10. Pricing can change, so check Anthropic’s model page for the rate that applies when you use the API.
A cache-read rate is a token price, not a guaranteed discount on an entire request or task. The total depends on how many tokens are read from cache and how much input and output the workload uses.
What are the listed Sonnet 5.5 API rates?
Anthropic’s Claude Platform documentation lists these rates per million tokens:
The Tool Desk
Outbyte Driver Updater FREEScan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteDriver Scan →Outbyte PC Repair FREEClear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsFree Scan →#1 Best Overall
| Token type | Listed price |
|---|---|
| Input | $2 |
| Output | $10 |
| Cache write, 5-minute duration | $2.50 |
| Cache write, 1-hour duration | $4 |
| Cache read | $0.20 |
These are Anthropic’s published per-token rates, not estimates of a particular project’s bill. A cache write and a cache read are billed at different rates; the write price also varies with the cache duration.
How much monthly Claude Agent SDK credit does each plan include?
Anthropic’s Help Center lists the following monthly credits for eligible Claude Agent SDK use. Team amounts are per seat:
Rank #2
| Plan or seat type | Monthly credit listed |
|---|---|
| Pro | $20 |
| Max 5x | $100 |
| Max 20x | $200 |
| Team Standard | $20 per seat |
| Team Premium | $100 per seat |
Anthropic describes these as credits for Claude Agent SDK use, separate from subscription usage limits. They should not be treated as a general credit toward any API bill: the Help Center says, “Claude Platform accounts using an API key don’t receive a credit.” See Anthropic’s Agent SDK plan-credit terms for current eligibility details.
Can Team users pool their credits to share up to $500?
Anthropic’s published rule says credits “can’t be pooled, transferred, or shared across the organization.” The listed Team credits are per seat—$20 for Standard and $100 for Premium—not a shared organizational balance. A total of $500 may be arithmetically possible across multiple eligible seats, but the official terms do not permit combining those credits into a common pool.
Can caching or batch processing reduce costs?
Anthropic advertises up to 90% savings with prompt caching and 50% with batch processing on its Claude Sonnet product page. These are vendor-stated maximum savings, not a guarantee for every request. Actual savings depend on workload, cache use, and whether batch processing fits the task.
Anthropic’s Sonnet 5.5 announcement also says the model typically uses fewer tokens for the same work and reports up to 30% lower cost per task than its predecessor in the company’s own testing. That is an Anthropic testing claim, not a prediction that every customer’s bill will fall by 30%.
