Solidigm’s discontinued-products list marks four consumer SSD families—the P44 Pro, P41 Plus, 670p and 660p—as end of life, completed in October 2024, and names no transition products. The company says it has exited the consumer SSD market to focus on enterprise and hyperscaler needs. Existing drives remain supported through their applicable warranty periods; buyers replacing one should check compatibility rather than assume there is a direct Solidigm successor.
Which Solidigm SSDs have been discontinued?
Solidigm’s official discontinued-products listing identifies these client SSD lines as end of life. All four show completion in October 2024, and the transition-to field is listed as N/A.
| SSD family | Lifecycle status | Transition product listed |
|---|---|---|
| P44 Pro Series | End of life completed October 2024 | None (N/A) |
| P41 Plus Series | End of life completed October 2024 | None (N/A) |
| 670p | End of life completed October 2024 | None (N/A) |
| 660p | End of life completed October 2024 | None (N/A) |
Solidigm says discontinued products are no longer available for purchase from the company, though remaining stock may be offered by sellers. Its listing says support continues until the applicable warranty period ends.
Why did Solidigm leave the consumer SSD market?
In a September 8, 2025 interview with TechRadar Pro, Solidigm director of AI and leadership marketing Roger Corell said: “Solidigm has strategically exited the consumer SSD market to focus on enterprise and hyperscaler needs, but we continue to support M.2 form factors for enterprise deployments.” The statement describes the company’s stated market focus; it does not announce a consumer successor.

- 【Gen 4 Performance】Super fast PCIe 4.0 with read speed up to 4125 MB/s, write speed up to 2950 MB/s.
- 【Perfect Compatibility】M.2 form factor, 2280 NVMe version 1.4 SSD provides 1TB, 400TBW for PC and laptop upgrades, everyday computing and gaming
- 【Power Efficiency】 P41 Plus is optimized for power savings and thermal efficiency to deliver consistent performance with minimal throttling.
- 【Solidigm Synergy】P41 Plus SSD comes with free and downloadable Solidigm Synergy software for added performance and faster access to your files and programs
The distinction matters because M.2 is a physical form factor, not proof that a drive is intended for consumer computers. Solidigm’s continued use of M.2 in enterprise deployments does not mean the discontinued consumer models have been replaced. The interview also reported Solidigm’s claim that it had shipped more than 120 exabytes of QLC SSD capacity across four generations; that is a company-reported figure, not an independently verified market statistic.
What happened to the P44 Pro?
Solidigm published a P44 Pro product discontinuance notice on June 30, 2024. It set September 30, 2024 as the last order date and December 31, 2025 as the last shipment date; final-time orders were subject to supply availability. That shipment date has passed, so any current listing should be treated as stock-dependent rather than evidence that the model is still in production.

The notice lists 512GB, 1TB and 2TB retail configurations, each described as M.2 80mm PCIe x4. The 2TB SKU is SSDPFKKW020X7X1. If considering a marketplace listing, check the seller, whether the drive is new or used, what warranty applies, and whether it fits your computer or enclosure.
Does Solidigm still support existing drives?
Yes, according to Solidigm’s lifecycle listing: support for a discontinued product continues until that product’s applicable warranty period ends. This is not a promise that every drive remains eligible for a replacement or a particular warranty outcome. Check the terms for your specific model and serial number, then use Solidigm Support for warranty, returns, downloads, maintenance tools, troubleshooting and compatibility resources.

For older Intel-branded NAND SSDs, Intel says technical and warranty support transitioned to Solidigm on October 3, 2022. Intel’s notice states that SK Hynix acquired Intel’s NAND SSD business in November 2020 and identifies Solidigm as an SK Hynix subsidiary. See Intel’s support transition notice if you are unsure which company now handles a supported product.

Solidigm’s official client listing does not name a universal replacement, and the available product notices do not establish a direct successor from another manufacturer. Choose based on the device you are upgrading, not just the discontinued drive’s brand or headline performance.

- Confirm the device’s requirements. Check its manual or manufacturer support page for supported interface, drive length and physical clearance. An M.2 slot alone does not establish that every M.2 SSD is compatible.
- Choose the capacity you need. Compare usable capacity with your current drive and allow room for the operating system, applications and files.
- Match the workload. Consider whether the drive will serve as a boot drive, a game or application library, or a frequent large-file workspace. Compare specifications relevant to that use rather than treating one model as an automatic substitute.
- Compare warranty and seller terms. Check the manufacturer’s warranty for the exact model and region, and review the seller’s condition, return policy and stock status.
Solidigm’s compatibility resources may help with its products, but a replacement from another manufacturer must be checked against the computer or enclosure maker’s requirements. No specific third-party SSD is established here as a direct P44 Pro, P41 Plus, 670p or 660p successor.
