Aktualisieren Sie USB-Treiber in Windows 11 zuerst über Windows Update. Wenn das nicht hilft, wählen Sie im Geräte-Manager das konkrete betroffene Gerät und suchen Sie dort nach einem Treiber – oder installieren Sie einen zuvor von der offiziellen Herstellerseite geladenen Treiber. Welcher Eintrag zuständig ist, hängt vom Gerät und PC ab; nicht jedes USB-Problem liegt unter derselben Geräte-Manager-Kategorie.
1. Treiber über Windows Update suchen
Windows 11 installiert empfohlene Treiber automatisch. Optionale Treiberupdates müssen Sie dagegen selbst auswählen. Öffnen Sie Start > Einstellungen > Windows Update, suchen Sie nach Updates und prüfen Sie anschließend die optionalen Treiberupdates:
- Öffnen Sie Einstellungen > Windows Update > Erweiterte Optionen > Optionale Updates.
- Wählen Sie nur den Treibereintrag aus, der zu Ihrem Gerät passt, und installieren Sie ihn.
- Starten Sie den PC neu, wenn Windows dazu auffordert.

2. Ein bestimmtes Gerät im Geräte-Manager aktualisieren
Wenn Windows Update nicht geholfen hat, suchen Sie im Startmenü nach Geräte-Manager. Identifizieren Sie das Gerät, das tatsächlich Probleme macht, öffnen Sie dessen Kontextmenü und wählen Sie Treiber aktualisieren.

Automatisch nach einem Treiber suchen
Wählen Sie die automatische Suche, damit Windows nach einem passenden Treiber sucht. Die Meldung, der beste Treiber sei bereits installiert, bedeutet nicht zwingend, dass das Gerät einwandfrei funktioniert oder dass der Hersteller keinen passenden Treiber anbietet.
Einen bereits geladenen Treiber installieren
Wenn Sie den Treiber von der offiziellen Supportseite des Geräte-, PC- oder Mainboardherstellers heruntergeladen haben, wählen Sie im Aktualisierungsdialog die Suche auf diesem Computer und geben Sie den Ordner an, in dem sich der Treiber befindet. Prüfen Sie vorher, dass der Treiber zum exakten Modell und zu Windows 11 passt. Microsoft beschreibt beide Suchwege in der Anleitung Treiber über den Geräte-Manager in Windows aktualisieren.

3. Treiber neu installieren oder zurücksetzen
Wenn ein Treiber beschädigt zu sein scheint, können Sie das richtige Gerät im Geräte-Manager deinstallieren und Windows neu starten. Speichern Sie vorher offene Arbeit und vergewissern Sie sich, dass Sie den passenden Geräteeintrag ausgewählt haben.
- Öffnen Sie im Geräte-Manager das Kontextmenü des betroffenen Geräts und wählen Sie Gerät deinstallieren.
- Starten Sie Windows neu. Windows versucht anschließend, den Treiber erneut zu installieren.
Begann das Problem direkt nach einem Treiberupdate, prüfen Sie stattdessen, ob ein Zurücksetzen möglich ist: Öffnen Sie die Eigenschaften des Geräts, wechseln Sie zur Registerkarte Treiber und wählen Sie Treiber zurücksetzen, falls diese Schaltfläche verfügbar ist. 4. Den passenden Hersteller-Treiber finden
Findet Windows keinen passenden Treiber oder besteht das Problem weiter, ermitteln Sie zunächst das genaue Modell des PCs, Mainboards oder USB-Geräts. Rufen Sie dann die offizielle Supportseite des jeweiligen Herstellers auf und wählen Sie einen für dieses Modell und Windows 11 vorgesehenen Treiber. Folgen Sie den dortigen Installationshinweisen.
Laden Sie Treiber nicht von Drittanbieter-Downloadseiten herunter. Microsoft rät dazu, ausschließlich die offizielle Website des Herstellers zu verwenden. Menübezeichnungen, verfügbare Treiber und die Zuordnung im Geräte-Manager können je nach Windows-Version und Hardware variieren.
