The Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 is the stronger processor by a wide margin in the cited benchmark aggregates, with a newer high-performance CPU design and a more capable GPU. The Snapdragon 6s Gen 4 is a lower-tier platform that still supports features such as 5G, Wi-Fi 6E and FHD+ displays up to 144 Hz. The better choice of phone, however, depends on the complete handset—not the chip name alone.

At a glance: Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 vs 6s Gen 4

Specification Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 Snapdragon 6s Gen 4
CPU design One Cortex-X4 prime core up to 3.21 GHz and seven Cortex-A720 cores across listed clock tiers, according to NanoReview; Qualcomm lists a Kryo CPU with a clock speed up to 3.2 GHz. Four performance cores up to 2.4 GHz and four efficiency cores up to 1.8 GHz, according to Qualcomm’s product brief. NanoReview identifies these as Cortex-A78 and Cortex-A55 cores.
GPU Adreno GPU; NanoReview identifies it as Adreno 825. Adreno GPU; NanoReview identifies it as Adreno 710.
Manufacturing process 4 nm, according to NanoReview. 4 nm, according to Qualcomm’s product brief.
Display support Check the exact phone’s specifications; no comparable maximum is established in the cited material. Qualcomm lists support for FHD+ resolution at up to 144 Hz. A phone maker need not implement that maximum.
Wireless connectivity Qualcomm lists Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 6.0. Qualcomm lists Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.4.
Peak 5G download speed Up to 4.2 Gbps, according to Qualcomm’s platform page. Up to 2.9 Gbps, according to Qualcomm’s product brief.
Camera platform capabilities Qualcomm lists an 18-bit triple AI ISP, semantic segmentation and 4K30 low-light video capabilities. Qualcomm lists up to 200 MP photo capture and 2K HDR video capture at 30 FPS.

These are platform specifications and capabilities, not a promise that every phone with the chip will include every feature. Phone makers choose components and settings, and handset design affects performance and user experience. Qualcomm’s official Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 page and Snapdragon 6s Gen 4 product brief describe their respective platform features.

Benchmark comparison

NanoReview’s pages display substantially higher results for the Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 in both AnTuTu 11 and Geekbench 6. The figures below are live third-party page aggregates, not results from a controlled test of two otherwise identical phones.

Benchmark Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 Snapdragon 6s Gen 4
AnTuTu 11 total 2,314,417 829,894
AnTuTu 11 CPU 645,495 318,469
AnTuTu 11 GPU 809,405 114,691
AnTuTu 11 memory 372,805 176,550
AnTuTu 11 UX 486,712 220,184
Geekbench 6 single-core 2,072 1,009
Geekbench 6 multi-core 6,649 2,892

NanoReview reported 50 CPU benchmark samples on its 8s Gen 4 page and 7 on its 6s Gen 4 page when accessed in 2026. The live figures may change as more results are added. Different phones can produce different scores because cooling, software, memory and power settings vary; benchmark versions are not interchangeable. See the pages for the Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 and Snapdragon 6s Gen 4 for their displayed specifications and results.

What the scores establish—and what they do not

  • The cited aggregates support the conclusion that the 8s Gen 4 is markedly faster in these benchmark results, including GPU performance in AnTuTu 11.
  • They do not guarantee a particular frame rate, sustained gaming performance or everyday speed in a specific phone.
  • They are not a direct, controlled head-to-head measurement: the devices contributing results may differ in cooling, memory, software and power profile.

CPU and graphics: why the 8s Gen 4 leads

The 8s Gen 4 pairs a Cortex-X4 prime core with seven Cortex-A720 cores, while the 6s Gen 4 uses four performance cores and four efficiency cores. This is a substantial difference in CPU configuration, consistent with the higher 8s Gen 4 scores shown on NanoReview. For demanding apps, heavy multitasking and graphics-intensive games, the 8s Gen 4 is the stronger starting point.

The chip is only part of gaming performance. A phone’s cooling system, power limits, screen resolution and software affect how much performance it can sustain. The 4 nm labels listed for both processors do not, by themselves, establish which handset will have better battery life.

Connectivity, display and camera capabilities

Qualcomm lists Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 6.0 for the 8s Gen 4, compared with Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.4 for the 6s Gen 4. Its 8s platform page also gives peak 5G download speeds of up to 4.2 Gbps; the 6s product brief lists up to 2.9 Gbps. These are platform figures: actual connection speeds depend on the phone’s implementation, network coverage and, for Wi-Fi, the router.

For the 6s Gen 4, Qualcomm specifies a display ceiling of FHD+ at up to 144 Hz, along with up to 200 MP photo capture and 2K HDR video capture at 30 FPS. For the 8s Gen 4, Qualcomm describes an 18-bit triple AI ISP, semantic segmentation and 4K30 low-light video capabilities. These do not determine the quality of photos or video from a finished phone. Sensors, lenses, image processing and the manufacturer’s tuning matter.

Qualcomm’s generational performance claims are separate comparisons

Qualcomm says the 8s Gen 4 offers up to 31% improved CPU performance and up to 49% improved GPU performance versus the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3. In its 2025 product brief, Qualcomm says the 6s Gen 4 offers 36% improved CPU performance and 59% improved GPU performance versus the Snapdragon 6 Gen 3, with results varying by OEM implementation and other factors. These are each manufacturer’s claims against a different predecessor; they do not quantify the direct 8s Gen 4 versus 6s Gen 4 gap.

Which processor should you choose?

Choose an 8s Gen 4 phone if performance is your priority

  • You want the stronger benchmark performance indicated by the cited AnTuTu 11 and Geekbench 6 aggregates.
  • You play demanding games or use processor- and graphics-intensive apps and want the higher-tier platform as a starting point.
  • You value platform capabilities such as Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 6.0, while checking that the specific handset includes them.

Consider a 6s Gen 4 phone when the complete handset fits better

The 6s Gen 4 is a lower-tier processor, but its platform includes 5G, Wi-Fi 6E and support for FHD+ displays up to 144 Hz. A phone using it may suit you if its overall price or hardware better matches your needs. The available evidence does not establish that a particular 6s Gen 4 handset is cheaper or better value in your market.

Compare phones, not just processors

Before buying, compare the exact local models and configurations. Check RAM and storage, display, battery capacity and charging, camera hardware, operating-system update commitment, warranty, network-band compatibility and current price. The phone maker’s cooling and software can also affect how the processor performs in daily use.

NanoReview lists the OPPO K13 Turbo Pro and OnePlus Nord 6 among phones using the 8s Gen 4, and the Xiaomi Redmi Note 17 Pro 5G, POCO X8 5G and Moto G57 Power among phones using the 6s Gen 4. Treat these as examples rather than a guarantee of current local availability; verify the model, regional variant and specifications with the seller or manufacturer. NanoReview’s phone page for the OPPO K13 Turbo Pro is one example linking a handset to the 8s Gen 4.
