To unlock Sound Breathing in Slayers 2, the current community-reported route requires a level 25 Slayer, 4,000 Wen, 10 Demon Horns, 3 Beast Cores, and Wall Climb. Find Tengai on a small rock island in the lake north of the Iceveil Valley shrine, then complete six training tasks and defeat the Sound Trainee. The detailed route is community-maintained, not an official guarantee, and its publisher says the information may change with updates; it was last checked October 1, 2026.
Requirements to start Sound Breathing training
The Sound-specific walkthrough lists these prerequisites. A community quest list and an independent field guide also put Breathing training at level 25, but they do not independently confirm every Sound-specific item requirement.

The walkthrough says Demon Horns drop from demons and Beast Cores from Beast Born Demons; it does not establish official drop rates. It recommends collecting the materials before traveling to Tengai. Where to find the Sound Breathing trainer
Tengai is in Iceveil Valley, on a small rock island in the lake north of the Iceveil Valley shrine. Wall Climb is listed as necessary to reach him. The guide’s location directions identify this landmark.

How to complete the six training tasks
The reported tasks unlock in order, and the quest marker points toward the active training area. Follow the marker as you progress; these specific steps come from a community guide that says it cannot test everything in-game itself.
- Push Ups — Butterfly Mansion: In the big house to the right of the spawn crystal, click each white circle as the inner ring approaches its edge. The guide says a red aura while standing indicates a failed set.
- Barbell Squats: Keep your input inside the moving bar until the meter reaches 100%.
- Boulder Split — between Windy Peak and Mistfall Harbor: Find the boulders in front of the Boulder Push maze and drag each slider to the far end until the boulder splits.
- Cup Training — Butterfly Mansion: In the third room of the big house to the right of the spawn crystal, choose the cup hiding the coin 10 times. The guide reports three lives and says the shuffle speeds up each round.
- Underwater Rocks — lake beside Bamboo Grove: Collect five glowing blue rocks while watching the oxygen meter.
- Beat the Sound Trainee — Iceveil Valley: Defeat the trainee to finish the route. The guide warns that cold drains health during the fight and suggests bringing healing.
The Sound training walkthrough provides these locations and minigame directions. Its community-maintained status means details may change or vary with updates.

What Sound Breathing unlocks
Winning the final fight unlocks Sound Breathing. It does not automatically allocate every form: open the Skill Tree and spend skill points to unlock the forms you want. The walkthrough lists five:
- Bursting Bloom
- Roar
- Exploding Beads
- Resounding Slashes
- String Performance

Is Sound Breathing strong?
One community guide characterizes Sound as A-tier by taking the median of five published rankings, which range from S-tier to B-tier. That is a summary of subjective rankings, not a measured performance result. The same guide describes its strengths as area coverage, stagger, and crowd clearing, with fewer forms, long cooldowns, and high cost as trade-offs.
