If SingleFileZ cannot access a page, first check the address. A chrome:// page or a browser add-on store page may be deliberately restricted to extensions; changing SingleFileZ’s site permission will not necessarily remove that browser security boundary. For an ordinary website, check the extension’s access to that site and whether an administrator manages the browser. A local file:// page is a separate permission issue.
Why can’t SingleFileZ access this page?
Some pages are protected by the browser rather than blocked by a missing SingleFileZ setting. The SingleFileZ FAQ says browsers block web extensions on certain domains for security purposes, and gives the Mozilla Add-ons site as an example. Chromium likewise says pages using the chrome: scheme, such as chrome://settings, are generally protected from extensions reading or changing them by default: Chromium Extensions Security FAQ. SingleFileZ describes its protected-domain behavior in its FAQ.
The exact address matters. A browser settings page, an extension-store page, an ordinary website and a local file are not the same kind of access problem. Start with the full URL, including the part before the colon.
How do I tell which kind of URL is blocked?

How do I fix access to an ordinary website?
Check the extension’s site access
Confirm SingleFileZ is enabled, then inspect the browser’s extension access setting for the affected site. In Microsoft Edge, extension access can be limited to when you click the extension, the current site, or all sites. Choose only the level of access you need. Microsoft documents these extension controls in its extension management guidance.

Check whether the browser is managed
On a work or school browser, an administrator may configure URL patterns that block or allow extensions from altering webpages. Ask the administrator to check the applicable extension policy if the site-access control is unavailable or the restriction returns. Chrome Enterprise policies govern webpages and extensions; they do not turn browser-internal pages into ordinary websites: Chrome Enterprise URL policy documentation.
Will allowing access to file URLs fix this?
No, not for a protected browser page such as chrome://settings. File URL access concerns local files and is separate from extension access to browser UI. Edge provides an “Allow access to file URLs” permission; enable it only if SingleFileZ needs access to a local file:// page. What if the page saved, but the saved file will not open?
That is a different problem from SingleFileZ being unable to read the source page. SingleFileZ says JavaScript must be enabled to open saved pages. It also documents a Chrome-specific requirement for viewing files saved to the filesystem: the extension or a command-line switch is needed. Check the SingleFileZ FAQ for the applicable steps rather than changing permissions for a page that already saved.
SingleFileZ also documents settings that can trade processing speed for omitting frames or deferred images. If an output is incomplete, review those options and decide whether completeness matters more than faster processing.

What should I do with a browser-protected page?
Use controls the browser itself provides, or capture the relevant information by a method the page permits. For example, you can copy visible text into a regular document when that is appropriate. Do not disable browser security or use undocumented flags as a routine workaround; a protected browser page is a deliberate boundary, not simply a failed extension installation.

Why can’t I save this page with SingleFileZ?
Check whether the address is a browser-internal or extension-store page. Browsers restrict extension access on some such pages; ordinary website permissions do not necessarily override that restriction.
Does the file URL permission let SingleFileZ access chrome:// pages?
No. It applies to local file URLs and is separate from browser-internal page access.

Is a page that will not open after saving the same issue?
No. SingleFileZ documents JavaScript and Chrome filesystem-viewing requirements for opening saved output; those are separate from access to the original page.
