A new Sigma fp II rumor was published on October 7, 2026, but Sigma has not confirmed the camera. L-Rumors, citing unnamed “trusted sources,” claims a cine-focused L-Mount camera with an EVF may be coming soon. Its sensor, recording features, price and announcement timing remain unverified.
What does the Sigma fp II leak claim?
L-Rumors’ October 7, 2026 report describes an alleged fp II as a cine-focused camera and lists the following possible features. These are claims from that report, not confirmed specifications from Sigma.
| Reported detail | What is known |
|---|---|
| Sensor | Approximately 24MP, according to L-Rumors; the report says it is uncertain whether this would be the camera’s sensor. |
| Mount | L-Mount, according to L-Rumors; unconfirmed. |
| Video | Open-gate capture and internal RAW, according to L-Rumors. Exact recording formats and implementation are not stated. |
| Viewfinder | An EVF is claimed, but the report does not establish whether it would be built in or configured another way. |
| Body | Said to be slightly larger than the fp L; no dimensions or weight are provided. |
| Image stabilization | Unknown. L-Rumors says it does not know whether the camera would have IBIS. |
| Price and timing | The report estimates a price around $2,500 and suggests an announcement by November, possibly October 24. Neither estimate is confirmed. |
The report attributes its information to unnamed “trusted sources.” No named source or Sigma spokesperson statement is provided, so the claims should be treated as a single unverified rumor rather than established product information. L-Rumors’ report
Has Sigma confirmed the fp II?
No. The Sigma materials available for its existing fp-series cameras establish the fp and fp L, but do not confirm an fp II, its specifications, a release date or a price. The alleged announcement window is therefore not a basis for a purchase decision.

How does the rumor compare with confirmed fp-series cameras?
Sigma’s current product information offers concrete reference points for the two existing models. Those figures describe the fp and fp L only; they do not validate the rumored successor.
| Camera | Confirmed information | Source |
|---|---|---|
| Sigma fp | Full-frame interchangeable-lens mirrorless camera with approximately 24.6 effective megapixels and contrast autofocus. Sigma describes it as “The world’s smallest and lightest ‘pocketable full-frame’ camera is here”; that is the manufacturer’s wording, not an independently verified current ranking. | Sigma fp product page |
| Sigma fp L | Announced in 2021 with an approximately 61-megapixel full-frame sensor and hybrid autofocus combining contrast and phase detection. | Sigma’s March 25, 2021 announcement |
| Alleged Sigma fp II | All specifications in the October 7, 2026 L-Rumors report remain unconfirmed. | L-Rumors’ report |

Does the EVF claim mean the camera has a built-in viewfinder?
Not necessarily. L-Rumors reports an EVF but does not clarify whether it would be integrated into the body or supplied in another configuration. Sigma already offers the optional EVF-11, an external viewfinder designed for the existing fp series. Its existence does not establish that an fp II is real or that the accessory would work with a future model. Sigma EVF-11 product information

If you need a camera now, compare the confirmed fp and fp L using the specifications Sigma publishes for each. Consider resolution and autofocus as well as the complete setup: body size and weight, recording and storage options, and whether an external viewfinder suits your use. For any configuration, account for the added cost and bulk of accessories.
