Do you need a controller?
No. The controller is optional, and touch controls are reported to be included. Notebookcheck names the GameSir X5 Lite as one example of a mobile controller and says it is sold on Amazon. Check current availability and compatibility with your phone before buying one.

The PC discount
When checked on October 7, 2026, Steam’s US page showed Sifu at $9.99, down 75% from $39.99. The page said the offer ends October 8. Steam prices and end dates vary by region and can change, so confirm the price on your own store page before you buy.
Steam lists Sloclap as the developer and Sloclap and Kepler Interactive as publishers. It describes Sifu as a single-player, realistic third-person brawler with cinematic Kung Fu combat.

What kind of game Sifu is
Per Notebookcheck, Sifu is a revenge story. When you die, an amulet brings you back older and stronger, but your health bar gets shorter. Once you grow too old, the run ends. The report also mentions training and arena modes.
Notebookcheck also says the game has sold more than 4 million units and won the 2023 Steam Award for Best Game You Suck At. We couldn’t find an original publisher or award record for either claim, so treat them as Notebookcheck’s reporting.

- You are free to pick your fights against the Kami in any order. The game features a dynamic difficulty system where each enemy strength is defined by the player’s chosen path. This means that the very same Kami fought at the very beginning could also be the final boss in a different route. Hope to never leave the one you struggle most to fight last!

- You will get to know the different Kami quite well. When Rei defeats them, she absorbs their power and their personality. The defeated Kami will be carried around wherever Rei goes, and they’ll surely have stuff to talk about. Sometimes their remarks will be useful information that builds the player’s understanding of the lore and the game mechanics, but sometimes they will be... not so helpful, to put it briefly.
