Standard Investments led the round. It is a historical funding announcement, not Sentra’s latest financing: the company later announced a $50 million Series B and said its total funding had exceeded $100 million.
Sentra’s $30 million Series A
Sentra said the January 2023 financing would help it meet growing demand for cloud data security. The round was led by Standard Investments, with Munich Re Ventures, Moore Strategic Ventures, Xerox Ventures, and INT3 participating alongside existing investors Bessemer Venture Partners and Zeev Ventures. The date, amount, stated purpose, and investor list appear in Sentra’s January 31, 2023 announcement on PR Newswire.
Yaron Ben David, chief digital officer of Standard Industries, said in the financing announcement: “With the growing complexity of securing information in today’s data-driven economy, Sentra’s experienced leadership team and impressive product innovation engine make them extremely well-positioned to address this urgent need at scale.” This is the lead investor’s endorsement in the company’s release, not an independent assessment of the product.
What DSPM does
Data Security Posture Management (DSPM) focuses on finding sensitive data and helping organizations understand and reduce the risks around it. In its 2025 report, Omdia described Sentra’s SaaS platform as working through four core steps:
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems2Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches3Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors#1 Best Overall
- Discovery: Find data across relevant stores and environments.
- Classification: Identify sensitive data and determine what kind of information it contains.
- Assessment: Evaluate risk by considering sensitivity alongside permissions, user activity, misconfiguration, and data movement.
- Remediation: Use risk scores to prioritize actions that reduce exposure.
These functions are useful lenses for understanding the category, not a guarantee that every DSPM product handles each one equally well. Omdia’s 2025 assessment characterized Sentra as comparatively small and said it did not yet deliver across the full range of DSPM propositions at that time.
How Sentra’s positioning changed after the Series A
In 2023, Sentra described its approach as scanning within a customer’s environment, classifying sensitive information, and extending detection and prevention across cloud and AI environments. Its current website frames the platform around continuous AI data readiness and governance. These are the company’s descriptions of its product and direction; they should be distinguished from Omdia’s dated 2025 assessment of the platform’s capabilities and limitations.
Sentra later announced a $50 million Series B led by Key1 Capital, with participation from existing investors, and said total funding exceeded $100 million. In that 2025 announcement, Sentra also reported revenue growth of more than 300% year over year. The funding and growth figures are company-reported, not independently audited figures in the announcement. See Sentra’s Series B announcement.

A financing announcement gives context about a vendor’s backers and company history; it does not establish product quality, security outcomes, or fit for a particular organization. For a DSPM evaluation, compare vendors on the practical capabilities that determine whether the product can find and help protect your data:
- Coverage: Which data stores and cloud environments can it discover and assess?
- Discovery and classification: How does it identify sensitive information, and can you verify the quality of its results in your own environment?
- Risk assessment: Does scoring account for permissions, user activity, configuration problems, and data movement?
- Remediation and access governance: Can the product help teams act on findings and manage exposure, or does it mainly report risk?
- Deployment and data locality: Where does scanning occur, what data leaves your environment, and how does the deployment fit your requirements?
- Vendor maturity: Does the vendor deliver the parts of the platform you need today, and can it support your organization’s scale and operating model?
Sentra’s homepage displays a 4.9 score and a 98.5% recommendation rate under a Gartner Peer Insights heading. Those are figures presented by Sentra; check the underlying Gartner page and its date before treating them as current review statistics. Sentra’s about page also displays a claim that 60% of enterprise AI projects will be abandoned by 2026, attributing it to “Industry AI Report 2025.” The original report publisher and methodology have not been established here, so that figure should not be treated as a verified market statistic.
No independently attributable market-wide DSPM statistic is established in the available sources. A broad market-size or growth figure should not be inferred from Sentra’s fundraising or company-reported growth.
