SelectorsHub is a browser extension for generating, editing, and checking XPath, CSS selectors, and Playwright locators against elements on a page. This workflow is useful when translating an element in a live page into a selector for an automated test.
The intended users include QA engineers, test automation practitioners, and web developers working with Playwright, Selenium, Cypress, or related tools, according to the Chrome Web Store listing. The extension helps inspect and test a locator; it does not write or maintain your test suite for you.

Support for a selector type or structure does not establish that every generated expression is a good long-term test locator. A selector that matches now can become brittle if it relies on incidental classes, positional relationships, or implementation details that change. Where your application provides stable test IDs or accessible names, consider whether those express the intended target more clearly for your test framework.
How to use it to generate and verify a locator
- Install the extension from the listing for your browser. The Chrome Web Store provides a listing for Chrome; SelectorsHub’s product page names Chrome, Edge, Opera, Firefox, and other Chromium-based options. Listings can change, so check your browser’s own extension store before installing.
- Open the page under test and open the SelectorsHub extension using your browser’s extension controls. Select or inspect the target element in the page as described in the extension workflow.
- Review the generated XPath, CSS selector, or Playwright locator. If necessary, edit the expression to make the target more specific or better aligned with the way your tests identify elements.
- Verify the expression in the extension. Check its syntax feedback, match count, and highlighted matches; confirm it selects the intended element rather than merely returning a nonzero result.
- Use the verified locator in the relevant test framework and run the test in that framework. Browser-side verification is a useful check, not a substitute for exercising the locator in the actual test environment.
What the free and Pro tiers offer
The official FAQ says a free version provides basic generation and verification features, while Pro adds advanced features. The official Pro pages specifically mention XPath healing and checking dynamic XPath stability, as well as additional support and updates. The available official descriptions do not establish a complete feature-by-feature plan matrix, current prices, trial duration, or license terms. Check the current official Pro and plan information before deciding whether a paid feature fits your workflow.

SelectorsHub lists Chrome, Edge, Opera, Firefox, and other Chromium-based browser options on its product page, while the Chrome Web Store listing is for Chrome. Because extension catalog entries and compatibility can change, verify availability in the store for the browser and version you use.
