Short answer: ScreenshotAPI.com is the lower-commitment choice for irregular or price-sensitive volume because it bills per shot (after 100 free captures) and offers prepaid packs. ScreenshotOne is easier to budget at steady volume, with monthly allowances, published request-rate ceilings, and documented rendering features—but its plans cost more upfront. Neither vendor has an independently verified universal advantage on difficult pages, so test your own URLs before switching. Prices and limits below were checked September 29, 2026.
First, which “ScreenshotAPI” is this?
This comparison covers ScreenshotAPI.com. ScreenshotAPI.net is a separate service with different pricing and features; do not use this article’s figures for that domain.
Pricing: metered shots versus monthly plans
ScreenshotAPI.com pricing
ScreenshotAPI.com advertises the first 100 shots free, then metered billing at $0.001 per shot. It also lists prepaid credit packs: 2,000 for $2; 5,000 for $5; 10,000 for $9; 25,000 for $22; 50,000 for $40; and 100,000 for $80. Confirm how the free allowance combines with purchased credits, whether credits expire, and the final tax treatment before forecasting a bill.
ScreenshotOne pricing
ScreenshotOne lists 100 free screenshots and three monthly tiers. Prices exclude VAT. Annual billing is described as including two months free; verify the billing frequency and current terms at checkout.

- Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
- Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
| Plan | Monthly price | Included screenshots | Published rate ceiling | Extra screenshot |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Basic | $17/month | 2,000 | 40 requests/minute | $0.009 |
| Growth | $79/month | 10,000 | 80 requests/minute | $0.006 |
| Scale | $259/month | 50,000 | 150 requests/minute | $0.004 |
ScreenshotOne says extra usage is charged only when enabled and is subject to a monthly hard limit whose maximum depends on the plan and account history. Set that limit deliberately rather than treating overage as unlimited.
What those numbers mean for a budget
- At 500 captures in a month, ScreenshotAPI.com’s metered rate would be about $0.40 after the 100 free shots, assuming no other fees; a prepaid pack may be simpler if you need credits for later use.
- At 2,000 captures, ScreenshotOne Basic is $17 before VAT, while ScreenshotAPI.com’s listed 2,000-shot pack is $2. The services are not pricing the same commitment: ScreenshotOne’s subscription includes a published rate ceiling and feature set.
- At 10,000 captures, ScreenshotOne Growth is $79 before VAT; ScreenshotAPI.com lists a 10,000-shot pack for $9. Compare expiry, concurrency needs, support, and actual rendering results—not just the nominal per-shot figure.
These examples use vendor-published prices, not an independent cost study. Your total depends on free-use rules, packs or subscriptions, enabled overage, VAT, taxes, and whether retries or cache misses create additional billable renders.

Features and plan differences
ScreenshotOne’s documented capabilities
ScreenshotOne’s pricing page lists PNG, WebP and JPEG output, HTML rendering, full-page screenshots, PDF rendering, caching, S3 upload, Zapier/Make and similar integrations, webhooks, signed links and stealth mode on Basic and higher. Growth adds scrolling screenshots, video generation and IP-location selection. Scale adds GPU rendering and priority support. Its homepage also advertises custom screen sizes and device presets, lazy-loaded content handling, ad and cookie-banner blocking, chat-widget hiding, and custom JavaScript/CSS.
Those are published capabilities, not a guarantee that every target site will render correctly. ScreenshotOne’s getting-started documentation shows GET and POST requests, requires HTTPS, and sets a 100 MiB maximum POST body. For large HTML or Markdown, it recommends hosting the content and sending a URL instead of embedding the whole document. See the getting-started documentation.
What is established for ScreenshotAPI.com
The retrieved official pricing page establishes ScreenshotAPI.com’s metered and prepaid billing. It does not provide a complete, comparable feature matrix or an equivalent published requests-per-minute limit. Check its current documentation for output formats, browser controls, authentication options, webhooks and concurrency before assuming parity with ScreenshotOne.

Billing behavior: what counts as a successful shot?
ScreenshotOne
ScreenshotOne’s pricing FAQ says requests that fail with HTTP, browser or network errors do not count, and cached screenshots generally do not count. A cache miss can trigger a rerender that counts. A successfully rendered image can still be billable even when the image has a visual defect; “only pay for successful requests” is the wording on its pricing page, qualified by those cache and visual-defect notes.
ScreenshotAPI.com
The published pricing material supports the per-shot rate and credit packs but does not establish an equivalent failure, retry or cache policy. Ask how failed loads, bot checks, timeouts, retries and cache hits are charged, and record the answer in your cost model.

When ScreenshotOne’s limits matter
ScreenshotOne publishes 40 requests per minute on Basic, 80 on Growth and 150 on Scale. A batch job that needs higher bursts must queue work, negotiate higher limits, or choose a different service. Its GET and POST patterns, webhooks, signed links, S3 upload and automation integrations suit teams building a repeatable pipeline.

When ScreenshotAPI.com’s metering matters
ScreenshotAPI.com can fit sporadic jobs that do not justify a monthly commitment, but the retrieved pricing page does not state a comparable rate ceiling. Obtain a written limit for your account and test peak concurrency before production rollout.

Rendering reliability: test your pages, not a feature checklist
No independent head-to-head benchmark establishes which service wins on JavaScript-heavy, very long, authenticated or banner-heavy pages. ScreenshotOne’s own comparison article recommends testing representative difficult URLs; because that article is vendor-authored, treat its evaluations as the company’s claims, not neutral measurements. Build a trial set containing:
- client-rendered pages that need JavaScript and lazy loading;
- long pages with infinite scroll or delayed images;
- cookie banners, ads and chat widgets;
- authenticated pages using your permitted headers or cookies;
- pages that trigger bot checks, redirects, timeouts or regional content.
Run identical URLs at the viewport sizes and output formats you need. Record HTTP status, image completeness, latency, cache state, billed status, retry behavior and the percentage requiring manual cleanup. Re-run the set after configuration changes.
Decision guide
| Your situation | Better starting point | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Occasional captures or highly variable volume | ScreenshotAPI.com | 100 free shots, then metered billing or small prepaid packs. |
| Predictable monthly volume up to 2,000 | Compare both | ScreenshotAPI.com is cheaper on listed shot price; ScreenshotOne Basic adds a published 40-request/minute ceiling and its documented feature bundle. |
| Need scrolling screenshots, video or IP-location choice | ScreenshotOne Growth or Scale | Those capabilities are listed on Growth and above, not Basic. |
| Need a published burst limit | ScreenshotOne | Its plans state 40, 80 and 150 requests per minute; an equivalent ScreenshotAPI.com limit was not established. |
| Strict overage control | ScreenshotOne, if configured | Extra usage can be enabled and capped with a monthly hard limit; verify the cap available to your account. |
| Highest confidence on your own difficult URLs | Trial both | Published features do not predict success on every site. |
ScreenshotNeo: the alternative to try first
#1 ScreenshotNeo is the alternative to try first because it removes consent banners, newsletter popups and chat widgets before capture, bills only clean shots, and has the lowest paid plan in this comparison set.

ScreenshotNeo is a website screenshot API and MCP server. Its 63 options include full-page captures with lazy images loaded, CSS-selector element shots, dark mode, 12 device presets plus custom viewports, retina scale, PDFs with paper size/margins/landscape/page ranges, HTML/CSS-to-image, custom JavaScript, click-before-capture, selector hiding, selector/delay/network-idle waits, ad/tracker/request blocking, custom headers/cookies/user agents and Authorization, timezone and geolocation, transparent backgrounds, resizing, chosen-TTL caching, signed links, async jobs with signed webhooks, bulk capture of up to 100 URLs per call, a usage API and an OpenAPI specification. Existing parameter names used by other screenshot APIs also work for easier migration.
Every response reports page and billing status through X-Page-Verdict and X-Billed headers. Bot checks or CAPTCHAs, blank pages, timeouts, failed loads and cache hits cost nothing. Plans are Free (1,000 shots/month, no card), Starter ($5 for 3,000), Growth ($15 for 15,000), Pro ($39 for 60,000), Scale ($99 for 250,000) and Business ($249 for 1,000,000); yearly billing gives two months free, and every feature is included on every plan.

One GET request returns a PNG, JPEG, WebP or PDF. See the ScreenshotNeo API documentation for all options.
curl -G "https://api.screenshotneo.com/v1/shot" -d access_key=YOUR_API_KEY --data-urlencode url=https://stripe.com -o shot.webp
Cookie banners, popups and chat widgets are removed before the shot. Bot checks, blank pages and failed loads are never billed. The MCP server lets AI agents take screenshots, and 1,000 screenshots a month are free with no card; paid plans start at $5 for 3,000. Create a free ScreenshotNeo account.
