ScreenshotAPI.com defaults fullPage to false; increasing the viewport height alone is not the documented way to capture the entire scrollable page. If full-page mode is already enabled, check for a selector restriction, scroll-triggered content, and whether the capture waits for the missing content to render.
First verify which ScreenshotAPI you are using
Several services have similar names but different hostnames and request parameters. The steps below apply to ScreenshotAPI.com, whose API reference is at https://screenshotapi.com/documentation and whose API hostname is api.screenshotapi.com. Do not copy its parameter names into a request to another provider without checking that provider’s documentation.
For comparison, Screenshot API at screenshot-api.org documents a different endpoint, api.screenshot-api.org. ScreenshotAPI.net is another separate service. These references help identify name collisions; their product-specific settings are not interchangeable.
Enable full-page capture
ScreenshotAPI.com documents fullPage as optional and defaulting to false. Set it to true to capture the whole scrollable page rather than just the browser viewport. Its documentation lists viewport dimensions separately: for GET requests, width and height; for POST JSON, viewport.width and viewport.height. A taller viewport changes the visible browser area; it is not the documented substitute for full-page mode.

GET request example
Add fullPage=true to your ScreenshotAPI.com request, keeping your existing authentication and target URL:
https://api.screenshotapi.com/capture?token=YOUR_API_TOKEN&url=https%3A%2F%2Fexample.com&fullPage=true
Use the endpoint and authentication format shown in your ScreenshotAPI.com account and current API documentation. The example illustrates the parameter; do not treat its token or URL as credentials to reuse.

}
}
Confirm the exact request shape against the current ScreenshotAPI.com reference for your chosen endpoint and authentication method.

If full-page mode is on, check what is restricting or hiding the result
Remove element-only capture while diagnosing
ScreenshotAPI.com supports capturing a specific CSS selector. If your request targets an element, a result smaller than the complete document may be intentional. Temporarily remove the selector and retry with fullPage=true to determine whether the restriction is coming from the selected element.
Trigger content that loads on scroll
Some sites render lower sections or lazy-loaded images only after the page is scrolled. ScreenshotAPI.com documents doScroll as a way to scroll before capture and trigger lazy-loaded content. A longer wait does not itself perform that scroll action; check doScroll when missing content depends on scrolling.

Wait for the content you need
Navigation completion, a particular element appearing, and a post-load pause address different timing problems. ScreenshotAPI.com documents these controls:
waitUntilchooses a navigation state:load,domcontentloaded,networkidle0, ornetworkidle2.waitForSelectorwaits for a specified element.delayadds a post-load wait; the documentation page accessed lists an input range of 0–20,000 ms. This is an accepted input range, not a guarantee that a particular delay will fix a page.
When possible, wait for a selector tied to the content that is missing. Use a navigation state or delay when that better matches how the page renders, and use scrolling separately when content is scroll-triggered.

Inspect the request and result
- Check the exact host and request. Confirm the hostname is
api.screenshotapi.comand inspect the final URL or POST body actually sent—not just the settings in your application. - Confirm the full-page flag. Verify that
fullPageis set to the boolean valuetruein the format your request uses. - Look for scope restrictions. Check for a CSS selector or other provider-specific capture restriction that narrows what is returned.
- Check scroll and render timing. If the missing material appears only after scrolling, test
doScroll. If it appears after a render event, select an appropriatewaitUntil, waitForSelector, ordelay. - Compare output dimensions. Inspect the resulting image dimensions and compare them with the page sections you expected. This can help distinguish a viewport-only capture from a page that rendered without its lower content.
The ScreenshotAPI.com reference cited here does not specify a maximum full-page height or a response header that signals truncation. If you suspect an account-specific or service limit after checking your request, verify it in the provider’s current documentation or account information rather than assuming a particular hard limit.
Or skip the browser setup
If you would rather request a screenshot from a hosted API, ScreenshotNeo accepts a URL in one GET request and can return an image or PDF. Its capture options include full-page capture with lazy images loaded. Here is a cURL example:
curl -G "https://api.screenshotneo.com/v1/shot" -d access_key=YOUR_API_KEY --data-urlencode url=https://stripe.com -o shot.webp
See the ScreenshotNeo API documentation for request options. ScreenshotNeo removes cookie banners, newsletter popups, and chat widgets before capture; bot checks, blank pages, failed loads, timeouts, and cache hits are not billed. Its MCP server lets AI agents take screenshots, and its Free plan includes 1,000 screenshots a month with no card; paid plans start at $5 for 3,000. Sign up for free.
Common causes and fixes
| What you see | Likely setting to check | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Only the initial visible area appears | fullPage=true |
ScreenshotAPI.com documents false as the default. |
| Only one section or component appears | CSS selector capture | A selector can intentionally limit the capture to a particular element. |
| Lower content or images are absent | doScroll |
The page may reveal or load content after scrolling. |
| Content appears late or intermittently | waitUntil, waitForSelector, or delay |
Choose a wait that matches the page’s render behavior; a delay and scroll are not equivalent. |
| Parameter has no effect or request fails | Hostname and provider documentation | Similarly named screenshot services use distinct endpoints and options. |

The API reference cited here does not state a maximum full-page height. Check the current provider documentation or your account details if you suspect a limit.
What’s actually slowing this PC down?
Pick the symptom - the matching free tool is one click away.
Does enabling a larger viewport guarantee lazy-loaded images will appear?
No. Viewport dimensions and full-page capture are separate settings, and scroll-triggered content may require the documented scroll action.
