The game’s official descriptions say its Twin Stick controls use the right stick to drift, while the PlayStation Store listing confirms that players can customize controls and adjust each stick’s horizontal and vertical sensitivity. The published information does not establish a dedicated switch that disables the right stick’s drift action.
What the latest Screamer PS5 update changes
Milestone’s game page lists its latest update as dated August 31, 2026. The notes cover character balancing, a first-boot menu change, steering-wheel force-feedback behavior, and console responsiveness; they do not mention right-stick drift or a new option to turn off the right stick. Do not confuse that update with the earlier patch article dated April 7, 2026, which lists PS5 version 01.003.000. That version number belongs to the April release, not the August update. Screamer released for PS5 on March 26, 2026, according to Milestone’s game page.
What “right-stick drifting” means in Screamer
Milestone describes Screamer’s Twin Stick controls as “steer with the left stick, drift with the right.” In that control scheme, drifting is an intended in-game action assigned to the right stick; the phrase does not, by itself, describe a defective controller. Milestone’s Screamer page

The official US English PlayStation Store listing says the controls can be fully customized and that horizontal and vertical sensitivity can be adjusted for each stick. Those options may help players change control behavior or reduce overly sensitive input, but the listing does not confirm that sensitivity adjustment disables drifting or that a particular remapping setup removes the action in every game mode. Changing a control is not the same as fixing controller drift
If the concern is that the car drifts when you intentionally use the right stick, the relevant options are the game’s control customization and stick sensitivity settings. The available official descriptions do not provide a verified settings path or confirm a dedicated “disable right stick” toggle, so it would be misleading to give exact menu steps or promise that a specific setting removes the drift action.

If a DualSense registers movement when the stick is untouched, that is a different issue: unwanted physical controller input. Neither Milestone’s August update notes nor the PlayStation Store’s description of Screamer’s in-game controls says the update repairs controller hardware or diagnoses a DualSense. A game setting may change how input is interpreted, but the cited information does not establish that it fixes a controller fault.
Other accessibility options documented by Milestone
In an accessibility article dated July 14, 2026, Milestone lists several options for Screamer beyond stick sensitivity. The article describes full controls remapping, one-handed controls, mouse and keyboard support on console, adjustable offline gameplay speed, text and readability options, color options, subtitles, and audio options.
