SAP’s September 8, 2026 Security Patch Day lists nine new critical- or high-priority vulnerabilities: four critical and five high. The official bulletin reports 19 new security notes in total and recommends that customers consult the SAP support portal and apply patches with priority. Which systems are affected depends on their installed component versions and the correction specified in each Security Note.

What SAP released on September 8

SAP’s bulletin lists 19 new security notes for the September 8, 2026 patch day. Nine entries are critical or high: four critical and five high. The bulletin also lists an update to a previously released high-priority note, but that update is separate from the nine new entries below. [SAP Security Patch Day bulletin]

The CVSS values below are the scores reported by SAP, not independent assessments. The priority, score, product name, and CVE identify issues to investigate; they do not establish whether a particular customer’s installation is vulnerable.

The four critical vulnerabilities

CVSS CVE and SAP Note Issue Affected product
10.0 CVE-2026-44756 / 3747649 Memory corruption SAP Extended Passport (EPP) Processing
9.8 CVE-2026-58240 / 3759472 Missing authentication check SAP NetWeaver Message Server
9.4 CVE-2026-76969 / 3798315 Credential disclosure in multitenant CAP applications SAP Cloud Application Programming Model (CAP) Library, sap/cds-mtxs
9.0 CVE-2026-66768 / 3781729 Improper access control SAP NetWeaver SAP GUI for Java

SAP’s bulletin gives affected version ranges for these products. For example, the CAP Library entry specifies library ranges, while NetWeaver entries identify relevant component releases. Check the matching Security Note rather than treating a product name alone as proof that a system is affected. [SAP Security Patch Day bulletin]

The five high-severity vulnerabilities

CVSS CVE and SAP Note Issue Affected product
8.8 CVE-2026-58243 / 3772411 Privilege escalation; update to an August 2026 note SAP ABAP Developer Tools
8.5 CVE-2026-76958 / 3792978 XML External Entity (XXE) SAP Integration Suite
7.8 CVE-2026-76967 / 3784138 Insecure deserialization SAP NetWeaver Business Client
7.7 CVE-2026-66767 / 3757002 Memory corruption SAP NetWeaver Application Server for ABAP and ABAP Platform
7.4 CVE-2026-2332 / 3791068 CRLF injection due to Jetty components SAP Commerce Cloud Search and Navigation

Version details are central to deciding whether these notes apply. SAP’s bulletin identifies, among other ranges, Business Client 8.00 and 8.10, SAP_BASIS and kernel releases, Cloud Integration Trading Partner Management versions, and SAP Commerce Cloud 2211 variants. Consult the individual note for the exact affected and corrected versions; do not infer exposure from a broad product-family label. [SAP Security Patch Day bulletin]

How SAP administrators should prioritize the work

SAP’s general direction is to apply patches on priority. The bulletin does not prescribe a rollout sequence or downtime plan for a specific customer landscape. Administrators can use the following workflow to turn the bulletin into an environment-specific assessment:

  1. Inventory installed components. Record the exact product and software-component versions in the SAP landscape, including relevant libraries and platform components.
  2. Match versions to each Security Note. Search the SAP support portal by note number or CVE, then compare the note’s affected and corrected ranges with the inventory. The note contains the correction details for that issue.
  3. Prioritize confirmed matches. Start with matching critical entries, then matching high entries, while considering SAP’s priority, its reported CVSS score, the installed version, and any operational prerequisites in the note. This is a practical assessment method, not an SAP-prescribed universal deployment order.
  4. Plan and apply the correction. Follow the applicable note’s implementation instructions and your organization’s change-management, testing, backup, and maintenance procedures. The bulletin itself does not specify customer-specific downtime requirements.
  5. Recheck the notes before implementation. Use the latest version of each SAP Security Note for its correction and any updates.

Updates that are separate from the nine

SAP also reported three post-scheduled-day updates: a high-priority update to note 3485073 and medium-priority updates to notes 3678417 and 3680888. These are updates to previously released notes, not additional new critical or high entries in the September 8 count. [SAP Security Patch Day bulletin]

What the bulletin does—and does not—establish

The bulletin provides the note and CVE identifiers, issue titles, affected products and version ranges, priorities, and CVSS scores. It supports identifying which Security Notes to review, but it cannot determine whether a particular customer deployment is exposed, describe exploitability in that environment, or provide a tailored rollout plan. SAP’s bulletin reports no customer-specific exposure assessment. Administrators should use the individual note and their own component inventory to determine next steps.
