Samsung’s U.S. Galaxy S26 prices reportedly rose on October 1, 2026: most 256GB and 512GB configurations increased by $100, while the 1TB Galaxy S26 Ultra rose by $200 to a reported $1,999. These are October retailer and news-report figures, not a later Samsung-published MSRP sheet. Samsung’s official March 2026 prices remain the launch-era baseline.
Reported October 2026 Galaxy S26 prices
Tom’s Guide reported on October 1, 2026 that Samsung’s U.S. listings had increased as follows:
| Phone and storage | Samsung March 2026 MSRP | October reported price | Reported change |
|---|---|---|---|
| Galaxy S26, 256GB | $899.99 | $999 | +$100 |
| Galaxy S26, 512GB | $1,099.99 | $1,199 | +$100 |
| Galaxy S26+, 256GB | $1,099.99 | $1,199 | +$100 |
| Galaxy S26+, 512GB | $1,299.99 | $1,399 | +$100 |
| Galaxy S26 Ultra, 256GB | $1,299.99 | $1,399 | +$100 |
| Galaxy S26 Ultra, 512GB | $1,499.99 | $1,599 | +$100 |
| Galaxy S26 Ultra, 1TB | Not stated in Samsung’s March MSRP sheet | $1,999 | +$200 |
The $1,999 figure applies specifically to the 1TB Ultra. It is not the price of the 256GB Ultra, which was reported at $1,399. Android Central independently reported the same $100 increases across the 256GB and 512GB models and the $200 increase for the 1TB Ultra.
How these prices differ from Samsung’s official launch MSRP
Samsung announced the Galaxy S26 series in February 2026 and said general availability would begin March 11. Its launch announcement listed starting prices of $899.99 for Galaxy S26, $1,099.99 for Galaxy S26+, and $1,299.99 for Galaxy S26 Ultra, with 256GB and 512GB choices for the S26 and S26+ and 256GB, 512GB, and 1TB choices for Ultra models. Samsung’s U.S. MSRP sheet effective March 2026 records the $899.99, $1,099.99, and $1,299.99 starting prices and the 512GB prices shown in the table. That document also says prices are subject to change without notice. It does not validate the later October figures, so the October amounts should be attributed to the reports rather than presented as a new official Samsung MSRP publication.
This is separate from the March launch increase
The October adjustment should not be merged with the launch pricing story. Tom’s Guide reported that the Galaxy S26 and S26+ had already launched $100 above comparable S25 models, while the S26 Ultra retained a $1,299 starting price at launch. The October move is a later increase applied to the S26-series prices listed above.

What Samsung has—and has not—explained
No cited source establishes Samsung’s reason for the October repricing. It would therefore be speculation to attribute that change to memory costs, tariffs, materials, or any other single cause.
For context only, comments about the March launch increase are not an explanation of the October update. In Tom’s Guide’s launch-price interview, Samsung America mobile executive Drew Blackard said the company had maintained prices “for a pretty long time” and cited added processors, batteries, displays, cameras, and AI. Tom’s Guide also reported Samsung Mobile COO Won-Joon Choi telling The Verge that memory shortages made a “significant contribution” to higher launch pricing, alongside tariffs and rising material costs. Those remarks concern the original launch context, not the October revision.

Retail listings were not synchronized
When the October reports appeared, Best Buy had updated its 1TB Ultra listing, while Amazon, Target, and Walmart had not all reflected the changes. Tom’s Guide also observed some Amazon configurations still at original prices. These were publication-time observations, not guarantees of current prices. Samsung’s March sheet and the reports do not provide a verified, current comparison for every retailer.
What to check before buying
- Confirm storage: distinguish 256GB, 512GB, and 1TB; the largest increase applies only to the 1TB Ultra.
- Check the exact seller listing: prices can differ among Samsung, Amazon, Best Buy, Target, Walmart, and carrier stores.
- Identify the sales channel: unlocked and carrier-specific versions may have different financing, activation, or promotional terms.
- Calculate the real cost: include taxes, trade-in credits, installment terms, and any limited-time discount rather than relying on the headline MSRP.
- Verify availability at checkout: retailer inventory and prices can change after the October reports.
Did the Galaxy S26 FE change?
Tom’s Guide reported that the Galaxy S26 FE was not part of this adjustment and remained listed at $699. That figure is also a report from October 1, 2026, rather than a newly issued Samsung MSRP sheet.
