The Galaxy Z Fold8 costs substantially more in the Korean prices available for comparison: Samsung Korea displayed it at ₩2,531,100 before promotion, or ₩2,378,000 on promotion, while Samsung announced a ₩1,045,000 launch price for the 256 GB Galaxy S26 FE. That implies a gap of ₩1,486,100 at the Fold8 reference price or ₩1,333,000 against its displayed promotion. The more important difference is the design: the Fold8 opens into a 7.6-inch inner screen, while the S26 FE is a conventional phone with a single display.
Galaxy Z Fold8 vs S26 FE: key specifications
The figures below come from Samsung’s published product information and Korean-market announcements. Samsung’s sources disagree on the S26 FE display size; the table uses the detailed Korean launch specification and notes the conflict.
| Specification | Galaxy Z Fold8 | Galaxy S26 FE |
|---|---|---|
| Form factor | Foldable phone with a cover display and an inner display | Conventional slab phone |
| Display | 5.5-inch cover display; 7.6-inch main display (Samsung US) Source | 6.7 inches in Samsung Newsroom Korea’s detailed specification; Samsung France lists 6.3 inches in its comparison table, so the published sources conflict. Korean specification; French comparison |

How much more does the Galaxy Z Fold8 cost?
Using Samsung Korea’s displayed Fold8 prices and the S26 FE’s Korean launch price, the difference is:
- ₩1,486,100 between the Fold8 reference price of ₩2,531,100 and the FE launch price of ₩1,045,000.
- ₩1,333,000 between the Fold8 promotional price of ₩2,378,000 and the same FE launch price.
This is not a like-for-like snapshot: the FE figure is its launch price, while the Fold8 figures are a reference price and a store promotion observed on 2026-10-05. Store prices can change, and these Korean won figures should not be treated as current checkout prices in other countries or converted without a dated exchange rate.

What the display difference means
Galaxy Z Fold8: two screen sizes in one device
The Fold8 has a 5.5-inch cover display for use while closed and a 7.6-inch main display when opened, according to Samsung US. The larger unfolded screen is the defining distinction for reading, media, or working across a wider canvas. It also means choosing a foldable design rather than a standard one-piece phone.
Galaxy S26 FE: conventional phone format
Samsung Newsroom Korea’s detailed S26 FE specification lists a 6.7-inch display. Samsung France’s comparison table instead gives 6.3 inches; the cited official sources do not resolve that discrepancy. The S26 FE remains the conventional slab option, with no separate inner screen.

Which phone should you choose?
Choose the Galaxy Z Fold8 if the foldable format is the reason to buy
Pick the Fold8 if you specifically want a device that opens to a larger inner display for reading, watching video, or multitasking. Its Korean price evidence places it well above the FE, so the extra spend is most defensible when the foldable screen is a priority rather than simply a way to get a phone.
Choose the Galaxy S26 FE if you prefer a standard phone and a lower Korean launch price
The S26 FE suits readers who want a familiar slab-phone design and want to compare against Samsung Korea’s ₩1,045,000 launch price for the 256 GB configuration. Its published Korean configuration also specifies Exynos 2500, 8 GB RAM, and 4,900 mAh battery.
