At its ₹79,999 India launch price, the Galaxy S26 FE is a capable, well-supported Samsung phone, but the price makes its compromises harder to accept. TechRadar’s review found strong graphics performance and good battery life, while noting limits with multitasking and intensive apps; it also judged the display less detailed than higher-tier Samsung screens and rated the camera 3/5. That makes the S26 FE easier to recommend when its actual checkout price is lower than launch price, rather than as an automatic buy at ₹79,999.
Samsung announced ₹79,999 for the 8GB/256GB model on 14 September 2026. A Gadgets 360 snapshot checked on 3 October 2026 reported ₹72,999 for that configuration and showed an Amazon listing at that price. Retail prices and stock can change, so treat the latter as a dated snapshot, not a guaranteed current offer.
What the Galaxy S26 FE offers
Samsung’s India announcement lists the S26 FE with a 6.7-inch FHD+ Dynamic AMOLED 2X display, refresh rates up to 120Hz, peak brightness up to 1,900 nits, an Exynos 2500 processor and a 4,900mAh battery. These are manufacturer-published specifications, not independent measurements. The announced 8GB/256GB configuration came in Pistachio, Blueberry and Graphite.
The rear camera system comprises a 50MP wide camera, a 12MP ultra-wide and an 8MP telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom. Samsung lists a 12MP front camera. Galaxy AI features include Photo Assist; the company also promotes My FanCam and Super Steady with Horizontal Lock video features. Those feature descriptions do not establish how well the cameras or AI perform in everyday use.

Samsung says the phone launches with One UI 9 based on Android 17 and commits to seven major Android OS upgrades and up to seven years of security patches. That is a substantial stated support window, though delivery cadence and the experience of future updates cannot yet be judged.
How it performs in independent testing
TechRadar’s review gives performance 4/5 and reports that the Exynos 2500 did well in its graphics testing. The reviewer also saw limits with multitasking and demanding apps, so the result is not a blanket assurance of smooth performance for every heavy workload. The review’s test figures are publication-specific, not independently reproduced here.

TechRadar’s display assessment describes a large, colorful screen, but one with less detail than higher-tier Samsung displays. Its scorecard gave the display 3.5/5, design 4/5, software 4/5 and value 3.5/5. These are that publication’s judgments, not a consensus rating.
Camera and battery: useful hardware, qualified verdict
The dedicated 3x telephoto gives the camera system a zoom option beyond the main and ultra-wide cameras. However, the available independent review rated camera 3/5; the published information does not establish a specific strength in image quality across different lighting or subjects. Buyers who prioritize camera results should weigh that review judgment alongside Samsung’s specifications and features, rather than treating megapixel counts or AI tools as proof of image quality.

Battery and charging results are more encouraging in TechRadar’s review, which rated battery 4/5. Its reviewer reported using about 40% battery during a typical day and said the phone could last two days of regular use in that reviewer’s experience. These are personal observations, not a controlled prediction for every user.
Samsung says a 45W adapter can charge the phone to up to 69% in around 30 minutes. In TechRadar’s test, the reviewer measured 43% after 15 minutes and a full charge after 58 minutes using a 45W charger. The test and manufacturer estimate use different reporting points, and neither establishes that a 45W adapter is included in the box; check the package contents for the exact offer and region before buying.

Does it represent good value at ₹79,999?
At the announced ₹79,999 launch price for 8GB/256GB, the S26 FE’s case rests on its combination of a large 120Hz AMOLED display, a three-camera rear setup with 3x optical zoom, Samsung’s software commitment and the strengths TechRadar observed in graphics performance and battery life. The counterweight is equally important: the display is not as detailed as higher-tier Samsung models, the camera score was modest, and the reviewer noted limits under demanding multitasking. TechRadar’s 3.5/5 value rating reflects that tension in its own review.
The dated ₹72,999 report on 3 October 2026 makes the phone look more attractive than at launch, but it is not a live-price guarantee. Before paying, check the specific 8GB/256GB listing, seller, stock and checkout total. Samsung’s launch announcement described an exchange upgrade bonus of up to ₹8,000, bank cashback of ₹7,000, or EMI options, and said those offers were mutually exclusive. Those were launch purchase options, not assurances of active promotions now; verify eligibility and current terms before relying on them.

How to compare it before buying
There is no established best alternative based on a matched, current comparison. Gadgets 360’s comparison list names the Google Pixel 11, OPPO Find X9s, Samsung Galaxy S25, Vivo V70 Elite, iPhone 16, Vivo X300 FE, OPPO Reno 16 and Samsung Galaxy S25+, but that list alone does not establish equivalent testing or current value.
Compare options on the same date and at the same Indian storage tier. Use the actual checkout price, then weigh:
- Display: resolution and brightness as well as refresh rate, especially if fine text and detail matter to you.
- Cameras: the versatility of the lenses and independent results, not just megapixel counts or feature names.
- Performance: sustained performance and multitasking for the apps you actually use.
- Ownership: the stated update commitment, wired and wireless charging, and build and durability.
Verdict: a better buy below launch price
The FE formula still works in the sense that Samsung offers a broadly capable phone with a long stated update commitment and useful hardware. It is less convincing at ₹79,999, where the camera and display caveats and the reported multitasking limits weigh heavily against value. At the dated ₹72,999 snapshot, it looks easier to justify, but buyers should decide using the live price and their priorities—not assume that snapshot or launch promotions still apply.
