The Galaxy A35 5G is worth considering if microSD expansion or its higher stated battery capacity matters more. There is no reliable current price gap in the available figures: Samsung’s U.S. MSRP records are from different dates, so compare same-market, same-condition listings before deciding.

These are Samsung-published specifications, principally from UK product pages; exact configurations and availability can differ by region. The processor core and clock figures describe the listed hardware but do not establish real-world speed. Likewise, camera resolution and battery capacity alone do not establish image quality or endurance.
What is the difference between the Samsung A35 and S24 FE?
Display: similar resolution and refresh rate, different tier
Both phones have FHD+ displays with refresh rates up to 120 Hz. The S24 FE’s panel is 0.1 inch larger and uses Samsung’s Dynamic AMOLED 2X label; the A35 uses Super AMOLED. On the specification sheet, the S24 FE is the more premium display choice, but the shared resolution and refresh-rate figures mean the basic format is similar.
Cameras and zoom: the S24 FE adds a telephoto lens
The main-camera specification is 50 MP on both. The key difference is the third rear camera: the A35 has a 5 MP macro camera, while the S24 FE has an 8 MP telephoto camera and lists 3× optical zoom. That dedicated zoom camera is the clearer choice for framing distant subjects without relying only on digital zoom. The A35 lists digital zoom up to 10×; the S24 FE lists digital zoom up to 30×, but a larger digital-zoom number is not a guarantee of sharper results. The front-camera figures are 13 MP for A35 and 10 MP for S24 FE; resolution alone does not show which produces better pictures.

Battery: capacity is not a runtime verdict
Samsung lists a 5,000 mAh typical battery for the A35 (4,905 mAh rated capacity) and 4,700 mAh typical for the S24 FE. The A35’s stated capacity is higher, but the two figures do not prove it lasts longer in comparable use. Samsung’s A35 page also describes an up-to-two-day estimate based on UX Connect Research’s UK assessment of pre-release SM-A356 units from January 11–20, 2024, using default settings on LTE and 5G Sub6. Samsung says actual endurance varies and that the estimate was not tested on 5G mmWave. Samsung’s Spain S24 FE page lists up to 28 hours of video playback; these are different measurement contexts, not a direct comparison.
Durability: IP68 versus IP67
The S24 FE is rated IP68 in Samsung’s launch materials; the A35 is rated IP67. Samsung says the A35 rating was tested in up to 1 metre of freshwater for up to 30 minutes and advises against beach or pool use. Neither rating means a phone is waterproof, and water resistance can be affected by wear or damage.

Storage: check the exact regional model
The cited Samsung UK A35 specification supports a microSD card up to 1 TB. Samsung UK lists S24 FE internal-storage options of 128 GB and 256 GB, with no expandable storage listed. If removable storage is important, verify the model and regional specification before buying.
Software support: S24 FE has the longer stated window
Samsung states up to four Android OS generations and up to five years of security updates for the A35. For the S24 FE, Samsung’s 2024 global launch announcement promises seven generations of OS upgrades and seven years of security updates from global launch. Samsung’s wording is a support commitment, not a guarantee that every feature arrives everywhere on the same schedule; the A35 product materials also note that policy may change and feature timing can vary.

How much more is the S24 FE?
A dependable current price difference cannot be calculated from the available U.S. figures. Samsung’s March 2025 MSRP file listed the unlocked 128 GB A35 at $399.99 and marked it EOL in that file. Samsung’s March 2026 MSRP file listed the unlocked S24 FE at $649.99 for 128 GB and $709.99 for 256 GB. The $250 difference between the two 128 GB amounts is arithmetic across separate dated MSRP records—not a current deal comparison or evidence of what either phone sells for today.
For a useful comparison, check both phones in your country on the same date and match storage, new or used condition, unlocked or carrier status, warranty, and seller. Discounts, availability, and regional configurations can change the result.
