The Galaxy A35 5G is the 2024 successor to the Galaxy A34 5G, released in 2023. On paper, both have a 6.6-inch-class FHD+ display and a 5,000mAh typical battery; the A35 adds a 50MP main camera with optical image stabilization (OIS) and is the newer generation. Which is the better buy depends mainly on your local price, exact regional model, storage, and how long you plan to keep it.

What is different between the Galaxy A34 and A35?
The A35 is the newer generation
The A35 followed the A34 by about a year, with PhoneArena listing March 2023 and March 2024 release dates, respectively. That makes the A35 the newer option, but release order alone does not establish a performance advantage: the cited sources do not provide matched independent benchmarks for the two phones.
The A35’s main camera has listed OIS
Samsung lists OIS on the A35’s 50MP main rear camera, alongside 8MP ultra-wide and 5MP macro cameras. OIS is a hardware feature, not proof that A35 photos will always look better than A34 photos. The cited material does not provide a controlled camera test comparing the models.

Display and battery capacities are close on paper
Samsung’s cited specifications give both phones a 6.6-inch-class screen with 1080 × 2340 resolution and a 5,000mAh typical battery. Samsung UK specifies a Super AMOLED panel and up to 120Hz for the A35. For a precise A34 refresh-rate comparison, verify the listing for the specific A34 version you are considering.
The cited A35 variant is heavier
The Korean A34 SM-A346N is listed at 199g, while Samsung Romania lists the A35 at 209g. That 10g difference applies to these cited regional variants; do not assume it holds for every SKU.

Storage options depend on the market
The cited Korean A34 specification has 6GB RAM and 128GB internal storage. Samsung UK’s A35 listing offers 128GB or 256GB storage and says availability varies by market and carrier. Both cited listings specify microSD expansion up to 1TB, but check the local model’s tray and SIM configuration before counting on a card slot.
Galaxy A34 vs A35 price difference
There is no reliable, current like-for-like price difference established for the two phones across markets. PhoneArena reports a historical US$369 MSRP for the A35 6GB/128GB configuration, but that is a launch-era reference, not a current street price. Compare live local listings for the same storage tier and condition, and account for seller, warranty, and stock before deciding which costs less.

Software support: check dates, not just launch promises
At the A35’s March 2024 launch, Samsung Newsroom Romania said the A35 would receive “up to four generations of Android OS and One UI upgrades, as well as five years of security updates.” This is Samsung’s launch-era policy statement; it does not establish how much support remains in October 2026. Samsung’s cited material here does not provide current support-end dates for a direct A34-versus-A35 comparison. If support life is central to your choice, check Samsung’s current support information for each exact regional model before buying.

Choose the Galaxy A35 if
- Its local premium over a comparable A34 is small.
- You want the newer generation and value the A35’s listed 50MP main camera with OIS.
- You have confirmed the storage tier and regional model meet your needs.
- You have checked current support dates for the model in your country.
Choose the Galaxy A34 if
- It is meaningfully cheaper than an A35 in comparable condition, with a suitable seller and warranty.
- Its performance, available storage, and verified software support are sufficient for your expected use.
- You have confirmed that your preferred A34 regional version has the features and connectivity you need.
If you already own an A34
The available specifications alone do not show that replacing a working A34 is necessary. Consider an upgrade if the A35’s camera feature, available storage, or other specific needs matter to you and justify the local cost; verify support dates rather than treating the A35 launch policy as a current remaining-support estimate.

Check before you order
- Match the country-specific model number and storage configuration in the listings.
- Compare current prices for the same storage, condition, seller reliability, and warranty.
- Confirm the local version’s SIM and microSD tray layout if you need expandable storage or dual-SIM use.
- Check current software-support information for the exact model if planned ownership length is important.
- Review the regional water-resistance terms. Samsung UK says the A35’s IP67 rating is based on up to 1 metre of fresh water for up to 30 minutes, cautions against beach or pool use, and says resistance can diminish with wear; do not infer the same rating for an A34 variant without verifying it.
