Its 15.6-inch Full HD screen and practical mix of USB-C and USB-A ports may suit a budget buyer; whether it makes sense in 2026 depends on the exact configuration, condition, price, and how much of its Google update support remains.
What the Chromebook 4+ offers
Samsung’s Chromebook 4+ is built around an Intel Celeron N4000 processor, Intel UHD Graphics 600, and a 15.6-inch, 1920 × 1080 anti-reflective LED display. Samsung’s 2020 datasheet also lists LPDDR4 memory, eMMC storage, a 39Wh battery, and a weight of 3.75 pounds. Those are entry-level specifications suited to ChromeOS basics, not a promise of smooth performance under every workload. Samsung’s Chromebook 4+ datasheet identifies the listed hardware.
Ports and display connections
The laptop has two USB-C ports, one USB 3.0 port, a MicroSD reader, and a headset combo jack. Samsung says USB-C can output to a display at up to 4K with an optional adapter. That can be useful if you need a wired external display or additional connections through a compatible hub; check adapter compatibility for your particular setup.
Configurations vary by model and market
Samsung’s May 2020 datasheet lists model XE350XBA-K01US with 4GB of RAM and 32GB of eMMC storage, and XE350XBA-K03US with 6GB of RAM and 64GB of eMMC storage. Android Authority also lists a 4GB/128GB SSD version, so listings should not be treated as interchangeable across regions and sellers. Before buying, match the complete model code to the installed RAM and storage rather than relying on the “Chromebook 4+” name alone. Android Authority’s review describes the additional configuration it lists.

How it performs for everyday tasks
In Android Authority reviewer Palash Volvoikar’s February 24, 2022 review, a 4GB/32GB unit handled ordinary browsing and a light workload adequately. The reviewer said a workload of roughly 10–12 browser tabs—including Gmail, YouTube, WordPress, and Google Docs—did not cause major frustration in that test. This is one reviewer’s experience with one configuration, not a guarantee for every Chromebook 4+ or workload. Read the hands-on review.
The same review found that heavier multitasking could slow the machine down. Running several YouTube videos at once led to slowdowns and dropped frames. If you routinely keep many demanding tabs open or expect to switch among intensive tasks, the reviewer’s experience suggests this model may feel constrained.

Screen, webcam, and battery trade-offs
Display
The 15.6-inch Full HD screen offers a large workspace for documents and web pages, but the 2022 reviewer criticized its viewing angles and color. A large panel is not automatically a good fit for shared viewing or color-sensitive work; if you can inspect a unit in person, check the screen from more than one angle.
Webcam
The reviewer described the webcam image as blurry, with washed-out colors. That observation comes from a single hands-on review, but it is a reason to compare another device if clear video calls are important to you.

Battery life
Samsung’s datasheet claims up to 10.5 hours for the N4000/4GB/32GB model under a Google Scenario power-load test, and warns that actual results vary with network and usage. That is a manufacturer figure from a specified test, not an independent result. In Android Authority’s separate test, the reviewer reported around eight to nine hours. The two figures come from different methods and should not be treated as a like-for-like comparison. Samsung’s datasheet gives its test qualification; Android Authority reports the reviewer’s result.
ChromeOS updates: support runs through June 2029
Google’s update policy lists the Samsung Chromebook 4+ for automatic updates through June 2029. For someone buying in 2026, that endpoint is less than three years away. Once a Chromebook reaches its final software update, Google says it no longer receives ChromeOS or browser updates, including security updates, bug fixes, and new features. Google’s Auto Update policy explains the schedule and what happens afterward.

It may be a reasonable choice if you want a large screen for basic web browsing and documents, find a clearly identified unit at a low enough price, and are comfortable with the webcam, display, battery, and multitasking compromises. The evidence here does not establish a current best price or current retail availability, so compare the actual listing rather than relying on historic launch or review pricing.
