What is a Roblox Star Code?
A Star Code is a creator code assigned by Roblox to an eligible member of its Video Stars Program. Using one during a supported purchase checkout can attribute the purchase to that creator. Roblox says creators must tell fans that they will be paid a commission if fans use their assigned code.
Star Codes are not the same as Roblox promo codes or gift-card redemption codes. Promo codes are redeemed through a separate flow for credit, Robux, or a virtual item; a Star Code is used in a purchase checkout to support a creator.
How to use a Star Code at checkout
Roblox’s retrieved program guidance establishes that creators receive assigned codes and must disclose commission, but it does not document the buyer checkout steps. The following directions reflect Beebom’s October 1, 2026 guide, so check the current checkout screen rather than assuming the field is available for every transaction.

How much does the creator receive?
Beebom’s guide, updated October 1, 2026, reports that a creator receives a 5% bonus commission when a Star Code is used and that the buyer pays no extra. Treat the percentage as a secondary-source report: the Roblox program guidance covered here requires commission disclosure but does not independently state that rate or explain its calculation. Roblox’s current terms or creator-portal material would be the appropriate place to confirm the rate before relying on it as official policy.
Where to find a creator’s code
Use a code the creator says was assigned to them by Roblox. Roblox does not provide a current public code list in the material covered here, and individual codes can change. Check the creator’s own current posts or video descriptions, and make sure the code is presented as their Roblox Star Code rather than a promo or gift-card redemption code.

Who can become a Roblox Video Star?
Roblox describes Video Stars as top video and livestream creators. Its eligibility page, last updated in December 2025, lists the following minimums. Roblox says criteria may change, and meeting a threshold does not guarantee acceptance.

The eligible content languages listed by Roblox are English, Spanish, Portuguese, German, Japanese, and Korean. Roblox says applications are open through its Video Stars Program portal. The program also lists benefits including direct access to its team, early feature and marketing opportunities, a regular Robux stipend, Creator Rewards access, and verification.

What creators must disclose when sharing a Star Code
Roblox’s official guidance says: “Every time you offer your fans a code you have been assigned by Roblox, you must make it clear that you will be paid a commission if they use that code.” It suggests: “If you use this code, I will receive a commission from Roblox”.
- For a video, Roblox says the disclosure should appear in the video itself and in its description.
- For a livestream, Roblox says to repeat the disclosure from time to time.
- The disclosure should be clear, easily visible or audible, and in the same language as the content.
Roblox also notes that third-party platform rules and local laws may add requirements, so its suggested wording should not be treated as a complete legal disclosure for every creator or location.
