If you want a RISC-V mini PC, Milk-V Jupiter is a strong current candidate—but it is a Mini-ITX motherboard, not a complete prebuilt computer. Plan for a case, power supply, storage and peripherals as needed, and treat its operating-system and workload descriptions as manufacturer claims rather than independently tested results.
What does “RISC-V mini PC” mean here?
RISC-V describes an open instruction-set architecture; “mini PC” can mean either a ready-to-use compact computer or a board from which you build one. The distinction matters: Milk-V markets Jupiter as a “RISC-V PC for Everyone,” but its documented product is a Mini-ITX board/platform. It supports a standard PC case and standard 24-pin ATX power supply, according to Milk-V’s Jupiter specifications. The page does not establish that a complete system bundle is included.
For a ready-to-use machine, verify exactly what a seller includes. For a DIY build, check case and power-supply fit, storage, cooling and peripherals before ordering. The published product information does not establish current inventory, street price, board revision, or whether specific parts and software combinations work together.
Milk-V Jupiter: specifications and what they mean
Processor, memory and graphics
Milk-V lists a SpacemiT K1/M1 system-on-chip with an octa-core X60 CPU (RV64GCVB), RVA22 and RVV1.0, plus 4GB, 8GB or 16GB LPDDR4X memory options. Its page also lists up to 2.0 TOPS of AI compute and an IMG BXE-2-32 GPU at 819MHz, with OpenGL ES 1.1/3.2, EGL 1.5, OpenCL 3.0 and Vulkan 1.3. These are manufacturer-published specifications, not independent performance results.

- Milk-V Mars is similar to the Raspberry Pi version, it has USB3.0 x3 , USB2.0 X1 a total of 4 USB ports. It has HDMI 2.0 with up to 4K support and an RJ45 Gigabit Ethernet port.
- This RISC-V SBC compatible with Raspberry Pi 40PIN GPIO, and support POE function through POE expansion board.
Choose memory for the workload and configuration you intend to run; the published options do not by themselves establish how demanding desktop applications or multiple services will perform. Milk-V also lists hardware video encode/decode capabilities, including 4K formats, but that does not demonstrate performance or compatibility for a particular media player, streaming service or media-center setup.
Storage, networking and expansion
The board’s listed storage options are an M.2 M-key connector for NVMe SSD over PCIe 2.0 x2, an eMMC connector and a microSD slot. Confirm the exact SSD and any eMMC module you plan to use; the specification does not establish compatibility with every part.
For connectivity, Milk-V lists two Gigabit Ethernet ports, onboard Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.2, HDMI output up to 1920×1440 at 60Hz, two USB 3 Type-A host ports, two USB 2 Type-A host ports and a USB-C USB 2 OTG firmware port. It also lists front USB headers. The page specifies PoE support for Ethernet with an additional module; do not assume PoE is available without that module.
Jupiter has a PCIe x8 physical slot with two-lane PCIe 2.1 signaling. Physical slot length and electrical lane count are different: check an add-in card’s requirements rather than assuming this slot supplies eight lanes.

Operating systems and proposed uses
Milk-V says Jupiter supports optimized Ubuntu and Fedora, and CASA OS. The company also describes Docker applications and NAS use cases. These statements identify vendor-supported directions, not confirmation that a specific image, application, driver, desktop workflow or NAS configuration has been independently tested. If you depend on a particular application, check its current support for the board and software image before building around it.

These are different board classes and platforms, not directly comparable benchmark entries. Use the published specifications to narrow candidates by form factor, memory, storage and expansion, then verify software support and complete-build requirements for your use case.

RISC-V International’s board directory includes other entries, among them VisionFive V2 and Banana Pi F3. The directory marks higher-memory Banana Pi F3 versions as limited supply. Milk-V’s product index also lists Jupiter, Titan, Jupiter2, Megrez and other product families; a listing is not proof of stock or a direct substitute.
Quick Recap
What to check before buying or building
- Confirm what is being sold. Ask whether the offer is for the board alone or includes a case, PSU, storage, cooling and any other components. Jupiter is documented as a Mini-ITX board, not a guaranteed complete PC.
- Match the build parts. The board page specifies Mini-ITX and a standard 24-pin ATX supply. Check the case layout, power connection and clearance for your chosen parts. It lists an M.2 M-key NVMe connector, but does not validate every SSD or establish a required PSU wattage.
- Check software for your actual task. Confirm the intended image, drivers and application support for Jupiter before relying on desktop, Docker, NAS or media playback use. Vendor capability listings are not workload tests.
- Verify the transaction in your region. Milk-V identifies Taobao and JD agents for mainland China and ARACE in Hong Kong as an official agent shipping worldwide. Confirm current stock, destination coverage, shipping, taxes, warranty handling and final landed price with the seller; the product page does not guarantee those terms.
