To play Riders Republic with friends, complete the tutorial, meet or group with them in the game’s social area, then choose an activity or session together. The game supports cross-play, so players on different platforms may be able to play together; cross-play is separate from cross-progression, which concerns access to your own game progress.
How to join friends in Riders Republic
Ubisoft describes the social area as a place to meet friends, form a group, and plan or start a session. The high-level flow is to meet or group with your friends in that area and select an activity together. Ubisoft Annecy director Arnaud Ragot summarized the idea this way: “You can meet your friends, group together, and then plan or start your session together.” Ubisoft’s interview explains the social-hub concept, but it is from 2020 and does not establish the exact current invitation controls.

In a later interface update, Ubisoft renamed the Social tab to Multiplayer. The tab offers quick access to Free For All, Tricks Battle, and Showdown. The Season 19 update also says players can group up and compete in user-generated events with friends. The update announcement does not provide a complete friend-invitation walkthrough, so menu labels and prompts may differ by platform or change over time.
Complete the tutorial before looking for the listed multiplayer modes: Ubisoft says they become available afterward. Ubisoft Help’s multiplayer overview describes the modes and their formats.

Which multiplayer mode should you choose?
The modes suit different group sizes and competition styles. Ubisoft’s figures below describe each mode, not a guarantee that every event is a private lobby limited to your friends.

Ubisoft also says the game can be played solo, with up to 64 players, or online with a friend group. Its mode descriptions do not say that every format has a private, friends-only lobby; check the selected activity’s available options in-game if you want to keep a session limited to your group.

Can players on different platforms play together?
Ubisoft advertises cross-play and cross-generation play for Riders Republic. Cross-play means playing with people on another platform; the supported platform list and availability can change, so confirm the current listing for your platform rather than relying on an older marketing page. Ubisoft’s game page lists the game and its platform information.
Ubisoft’s general guidance says cross-play and cross-progression require a Ubisoft account, and feature availability varies by game and platform. Your Ubisoft account and the relevant linked platform accounts are therefore part of the setup; Ubisoft’s guidance does not confirm an identical cross-platform invite flow for every platform combination. Cross-play and cross-progression are not the same
Cross-play lets you play with someone using another platform. Cross-progression lets you access your own progress on platforms linked to your Ubisoft account where you own the game. Ubisoft notes that this may require purchasing the game more than once; buying one platform version does not automatically grant every other version.

Ubisoft says access to online multiplayer modes on console may require an active PlayStation Plus or Xbox Game Pass subscription. The wording is “may”: requirements can depend on the platform, region, and subscription terms, so check the current console-store or service details if online access is unavailable.
