Open the panel with Windows+A or from the taskbar, then drag its controls into the order you want.
Open Quick Settings
Quick Settings is the taskbar panel for frequently used controls such as volume, screen brightness, Wi-Fi, and accessibility tools. Microsoft documents these ways to open it:
- Press Windows+A.
- Select the Quick Settings area on the taskbar.
- On a touch device, swipe up from the bottom edge of the Quick Settings area.

Rearrange the controls
- Open Quick Settings.
- Drag a control to the position you want. Microsoft’s accessibility guidance describes tapping and holding an icon, then dragging it to the desired location.
- Repeat for any other controls you want to move.
Microsoft says Quick Settings cannot be removed from the taskbar, but its elements can be moved and arranged. For keyboard navigation within the panel, use the arrow keys to move between elements and press Enter to activate one. The accessibility guidance also lists an Accessibility flyout with tools including Magnifier, Color filters, Narrator, Mono audio, Live captions, and Sticky keys. Can you restore the exact default layout?
The current Microsoft taskbar guidance explains how to arrange Quick Settings elements, but does not document a built-in command to restore the original order. If by “reset” you mean arranging the controls to suit your preferences, move them manually. If you mean returning them to an exact factory arrangement, Microsoft’s cited guidance does not establish a native reset option.

That is a limit of the available documentation, not proof that behavior is identical across every Windows 11 feature update, device configuration, or managed device. The cited Microsoft pages provide general Windows guidance and do not identify a specific feature-update version for these steps.
If Quick Settings will not open or controls are missing
A panel that fails to open or is missing controls is a troubleshooting issue, not simply a layout reset. The available Microsoft guidance does not establish a generally applicable reset procedure for a malfunctioning panel. Do not treat Reset this PC, a network reset, or a general Windows Settings reset as a documented way to restore this panel’s layout. Nor should an unofficial registry suggestion be presented as a Microsoft-approved fix.
