The launch announcement described encrypted connections on Wi-Fi; the linked US App Store listing supplied device requirements and privacy disclosures, while ReasonLabs’ policy and service terms explain what the company says it collects and supports. Those materials are not an independent security audit or performance test.
What ReasonLabs announced
ReasonLabs’ October 30, 2023 announcement introduced RAV VPN for iOS and directed readers to an App Store download. The company said the app gives iPhone users an encrypted connection on Wi-Fi and tools intended to protect online activity and sensitive data. These are launch claims from ReasonLabs, not independently verified outcomes.
ReasonLabs CEO and co-founder Kobi Kalif said the app would “empower[] users to take control of their online experiences,” so they could connect with confidence. That statement describes the company’s aim, not a measured result.
Is RAV VPN available for iPhone, and what does it require?
The announcement linked to a US App Store listing titled “RAV VPN – Ultra Fast & Secure,” with Reason Cybersecurity Ltd. identified as the developer. In the extracted US listing, the app was marked free with in-app purchases and required iOS 16.0 or later on iPhone and iPadOS 16.0 or later on iPad. The listing displayed version 1.16.0, dated July 15, 2024, as its latest update.

These are storefront details, not a guarantee that the app is currently available in every country or remains listed in the same form. The announcement’s App Store link resolves to a listing, but RAV VPN did not appear among the iPhone and iPad apps shown on Apple’s extracted US developer page for Reason Cybersecurity Ltd. That discrepancy does not establish that the app is unavailable elsewhere or in all storefronts. Check the app’s listing in your local App Store for current availability, requirements, and update information.
Is RAV VPN free?
The US App Store listing describes a free download with in-app purchases. ReasonLabs’ terms describe free and paid premium editions, with plan details available on the company website and subject to change. The listing displays multiple in-app purchase prices rather than one universal subscription price; check the local App Store listing for current amounts and terms before subscribing.

Which VPN protocols does RAV VPN support?
The App Store description names IKEv2. Separately, ReasonLabs’ service terms say RAV VPN supports OpenVPN, which users must download, activate, and select. The terms caution that technology and service performance can vary across platforms and devices. The available materials therefore do not establish that both protocols are implemented or selectable in the same way in the iOS app; check the current app’s settings for its available options.
What information does RAV VPN collect?
ReasonLabs’ privacy policy says the service does not monitor, collect, or log browsing activity on any platform. The same policy describes other information that may be handled to operate accounts, subscriptions, and support, as well as aggregated anonymous service data.

What Apple’s App Privacy disclosure says
The US App Store listing separately shows the developer’s App Privacy disclosure. It says identifiers may be used to track users across other companies’ apps and websites; user content may be linked to identity; and purchases, identifiers, usage data, and diagnostics may be collected without being linked to identity. This is Apple’s presentation of information supplied by the developer, not an independent audit or confirmation of actual data flows. Consider both the policy and the storefront disclosure when deciding whether the app fits your privacy expectations.
What the privacy and security claims establish
ReasonLabs’ current product page markets RAV VPN for Wi-Fi privacy and encryption and describes risks such as man-in-the-middle attacks, malware distribution, and password sniffing. It also makes broader encryption and streaming claims. Those statements should be understood as vendor claims: the reviewed materials do not provide an independent iOS security audit, speed test, or comparative performance test.

ReasonLabs’ terms state that coverage, speeds, locations, and service quality may vary, and that the service is provided “AS IS” and “AS AVAILABLE.” The company does not guarantee a particular speed, location, or level of reliability in those terms.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. Can you be tracked while using RAV VPN?
A VPN can route network traffic through a VPN service, but using one does not by itself establish that a person is untrackable. In RAV VPN’s case, ReasonLabs says it does not log browsing activity, while its policy and Apple’s developer-provided disclosure describe other data categories. Those statements do not amount to independent verification of the app’s traffic handling or a promise that other forms of tracking are prevented.
