Which phone has the better performance?
The P4 has the more capable published chipset: a Dimensity 7400 Ultra on a 4nm process, compared with the P4R’s Dimensity 6300 on a 6nm process. That makes the P4 the more convincing specification-led option for demanding apps and gaming. The specifications alone do not quantify real-world speed, sustained performance or gaming frame rates; no matched independent benchmark results are established here.

How do their displays differ?
Both phones list a 144Hz refresh rate, but that shared figure does not make their screens equivalent. The P4 uses a 6.77-inch AMOLED panel at 1080 × 2392 resolution. The P4R lists an LCD panel, and its cited product page does not state a comparable resolution. If contrast and panel technology matter more than the refresh-rate headline, the P4 has the clearer specification advantage.
Brightness figures need similar caution. realme lists 1600-nit HBM and 4500-nit peak claims for the P4, and a 1200-nit peak claim for the P4R. These are manufacturer specifications with different labels and no shared test conditions stated here, so they should not be treated as directly comparable measurements of everyday brightness.

Which has the better battery and charging?
The P4R has the larger stated capacity: 8000mAh, against the P4’s 7000mAh typical capacity (6830mAh minimum). Capacity is not a guarantee of longer runtime; screen technology, chipset, settings and usage affect how long a charge lasts. Manufacturer runtime claims are not independent comparative tests.
Charging specifications favor the P4 for speed on paper: it lists 80W charging, while the P4R lists 45W. realme’s P4 specification sheet says a power adapter is included. The wattage figures alone do not establish actual charging times under matched conditions.

What do the camera specifications establish?
The P4’s official rear-camera listing is more detailed: a 50MP main camera, an 8MP wide-angle camera, and rear video recording up to 4K at 30fps. The P4R product page gives a 50MP AI camera headline. That information is not enough to declare a camera winner: megapixel counts do not establish photo quality, and no equivalent sample-based comparison is available here.

What is the price difference between the realme P4 and P4R?
A reliable current price difference cannot be calculated from the available figures. realme’s launch announcement gives the P4R a starting price of ₹16,999, while an official-store crawl returned ₹30,999 for one P4 8GB+128GB option on 2026-10-04. The P4 figure is a volatile listing observation with confusing MRP and offer details; the P4R figure is its announced launch starting price, not a confirmed current offer. They may also refer to different configurations.
For a fair comparison, check both phones’ live India listings on the same date and compare the same RAM and storage configuration, including any bank discounts or exchange offers. The retrieved P4R store page did not expose an active selected-variant price, so its current price remains unconfirmed here.
Which one should you choose?
- Choose the realme P4 5G if you prioritize the stronger published chipset, an AMOLED panel with a stated resolution, or faster charging.
- Consider the realme P4R 5G if its larger nominal battery capacity is your priority and its current price for your preferred configuration fits your budget.
Neither capacity nor headline specifications alone establish battery endurance, durability or camera quality. Compare independent tests and current same-configuration prices if those are the deciding factors.
