Specifications below are for India versions. Names, configurations and features can vary by country, so check the exact regional model and memory tier before buying.
realme 15 5G vs realme 16 5G: key specifications
The comparison is between the base 5G models, using realme’s India specification pages. The listed differences point to different priorities rather than a simple upgrade: the 15 emphasizes chipset, storage speed, display resolution and refresh ceiling, while the 16 offers expandable storage.

Which phone has the better performance and storage?
Chipset and everyday speed
On paper, the realme 15 5G has the more capable listed chipset: Dimensity 7300+ on a 4nm process versus the realme 16 5G’s Dimensity 6400 Turbo on 6nm. Realme India reported a 740K AnTuTu score for the 15 in its 2025 launch announcement; that is a manufacturer-reported figure, not an independent test. Chip names and that score do not establish how the two phones compare in sustained gaming, thermals or everyday use. For those questions, look for independent tests of the exact regional versions.
Internal and expandable storage
Both phones are listed in 128GB and 256GB tiers, but the 15 specifies UFS 3.1 while the 16 specifies UFS 2.2. The realme 16 5G’s India specification page also says a phone storage card is supported. That makes the 16 worth considering if adding removable storage matters more to you than the listed internal-storage standard. Confirm the precise RAM/storage configuration and card compatibility for the variant sold locally.

How do their displays compare?
The realme 15 5G lists a larger 6.8-inch panel, higher 1280 × 2800 resolution and up to 144Hz refresh rate. The realme 16 5G lists an approximately 6.57-inch FHD+ 2372 × 1080 display with up to 120Hz. The 15 therefore has the higher resolution and refresh-rate ceilings on paper; the 16 has a smaller listed display. These figures alone do not settle factors such as brightness, color, touch response or viewing quality.
Battery and charging differences
Both India versions are in the 7000mAh battery class, but the specification details are not identical: realme’s 16 page gives both typical capacity (7000mAh) and rated capacity (6830mAh), while realme India’s 2025 launch announcement gives the 15’s 7000mAh capacity. The same launch announcement lists 80W charging for the 15; the 16 India specification page lists 60W fast charging. Advertised capacity and charging wattage do not establish real-world endurance or charging time, which depend on usage and conditions.

What is the price difference?
A 91mobiles comparison page displayed Amazon prices of ₹29,999 for the realme 15 5G and ₹36,999 for the realme 16 5G when accessed in 2026: a ₹7,000 difference in that snapshot. These are volatile third-party marketplace observations, not official MSRP or confirmation of current stock. Check the live listings, seller, warranty and matching RAM/storage tiers before comparing.
Prices in other markets should not be blended with that India comparison. In Spain, Cinco Días reported that the realme 16 5G went on sale on April 16, 2026, in an 8GB+256GB configuration with a €349 launch offer valid through April 30, 2026. That introductory offer has expired and should not be treated as today’s Spanish price.
